This weekend my hubby was very irritable.  He struggles with anger and stress management.  I always assumed he was an O because of his ability to do a lot in a day.  He is dealing with a lot and finally admited he must do something different because he feels like he is falling apart.  I did his blood type and alas HE IS AN A+ like me.  This explained so much.  All along he has been eating like an O because he is a muscular man but every time I made tempeh or lentils he went crazy for them.  When he makes things and uses his creative side it is the only time he is happy.

My life is so much easier now because I just double what I cook.  He is so excited he has now stuck to his A lifestyle for 2 straight days and feels much better.  Now if I could just get him to sleep through the night.  Lots of stress but via some cortiguard and tranquility base and breathing techniques he will eventually.

I love my A+ hubby!  I'm so thankful he is an A!  Oh and he will go donate blood to get his secretor status too.

That will make your shopping and cooking chores easier and him more healthy...  It is great that he shared with you that he was feeling discomfort...  Next step is to GT him to refine it even more, but in time!

ABJoe...yeah it does help soooo much and I'll take it!  I did learn that his son is O+ with huge anxiety issues.  That will change shopping on the weeks we have him but I want to assist that little boy...he's a good boy.  I will focus mostly on breathing with him and getting him out for vigorous exercise.  That whole mess is a looooonnnnng story.

DoS...really?  I'd share some things about him sometime in a PM if you like and see if you can relate.  He is 45 and very fit, hadsome, very creative and angry at the world feeling that most people just don't get it.  I can tell you that even he said it was that thinking that got him this far (protected his soft heart) but now is no longer working for him and really it never did.  He is begging to let this anger and disappointment in the world go.  Still sound like you?

I guess what I meant to ask is, will they actually check your
secretor status when you donate blood?

No, if you want to know that information you must specifically ask for it. Lewis blood group phenotype will tell you your secretor status unless you happen to be Lewis negative Le(a-b-).

Get him some B-12 from NAP next time you order. Have him take one 1 hour before bedtime, will help him sleep.

I am not 45 but I will very fit (I wish), handsome, and very creative. I am not angry often but at the moment... I have anxiety through the roof and I feel violent. I also feel a dull pain in my lower left area adrenal/kidney maybe... I got home work to do but I just want to smash stuff or get in a fist fight. I am not sure I feel that way towards the world but in some ways sure. I know wheat/gluten/caesin has a lot to do with me feeling all sorts of ways but I have not had any today.

I am going to try B12 before I sleep... if that works oh man...

Update, guess it was candida die off giving me the anxiety and anger. It left when some digested (a little not) food left me.

That's great news Lori.  No doubt your hubby will do much better on the A diet than an O diet.  How easy it will be for you to cook!  Hooray!

Maybe corn, but wheat is a beneficial for me..Even if he ate white flour and corn he's way ahead of eating like an O
Those two are neutral on the A diet.

You are so right Andrea.  But...Yeah, been doing that but there has been major issues with little boy O who refuses to sleep at either house.  We can get him down but his mother cannot and it becomes all full of drama there and we are getting phone calls in the middle of the night.  Got a pill for that?  !

I totally agree!  I am doing that at our house but we only have him 40% of the time.  His mother allows all sorts of nasties including Monster drink...all caffiene and taurine.  Uhg.  Child is loaded with eczema, belly issues and major anxiety and rage.  It is getting very bad.  All I can do is what I can do.  Sigh.

That sounds so much more convenient, if everybody in the family can eat the same things!

I've pretty much been cooking foods that are beneficial on my SWAMI and feeding them to my kids, plus baking spelt bread and oat-based granola bars for them, and dairy products for them as well. I suspect that at least  two of them are Os, and shouldn't be having any dairy, but neither is ready to give those up right now, and they're benefitting from eliminating wheat and corn (at least when they eat at home or food packed from home- they still have snacks away from home a few times a month.)

My "most likely an O" 13yo has benefitted a lot from cutting out wheat, corn, and peanuts. She's slimmed down this year and her moods are much more stable. When she decided to "break the diet" around Purim, she was irritable and cranky and generally very hard to live with. It's hard to pinpoint the cause, since she also ate a lot of foods with synthetic flavorings that week (she strictly avoids synthetic colors at all times, but she can handle flavors in small amounts- but too many mess her up!) So what made her react? The wheat or the vanillin? We'll see how she does during Passover when she does plan to eat wheat matzah, but I won't have artificial flavors in the house (except for 1 package of marshmallows for the whole week.)

By the age comment I was suggesting you don't want to be dealing with this at 45.  You are here now and are very empowered by this information.

I am so sorry for how you feel as that must be a horrible feeling and certainly bad for your health.  When I said he is mad at the world, I meant he tends to see people as "annoying" him.  When you spend so much time looking at people like that it develops a very ugly place in your head to live.

Diet can only fix so much DoS.  Some of this work is internal.  Dr. D told me himself that supplements and food choices can only help restore some balance so you can do the mental work.  He insisted that the two go hand in hand.  Your rage is a symptom and now something you use to get through your day.

A book called Taming the Tiger Within was recommended to my hubby.  I just ordered it.  If you are at all interested I will happily let you know if it is a worthy read...to save you the time if it isn't.  That angry, anxious, violent feeling holds you prisoner whether you realize it or not.  You need to find your power elsewhere.  Also, make sure your thyroid function is good as if it isn't, that can cause emotional upset as well.  I was very violent and used the "f" word with everyone when my TSH rose to 29 before they caught it.  I was a wild woman.  My doc thought I cracked.

Hope I didn't offend but I'm just sharing info and by no means pointing a finger.  I want everyone here to be their best.

Ruthie...you came to me in a dream last night because before bed I was going to post a question to you about matzah and how to handle this over the holiday but ran out of time.  In my dream you were cooking in my house (which was amazingly beautiful with fancy counter tops) and you brought your daughters.  However you told me your name was MRuth.  .  Then you made CHRISTMAS COOKIES!  I swear this is true.  Very weird.  Anyway, thank you for sharing about your girls because that gives me hope that with a few changes he might settle down a little.  I am afraid for him.

Well, there's no reason in the world I couldn't bake kosher, compliant,  sugar cookies (from either rice flour, spelt flour, or almond flour) and then cut them out with Christmas-themed cookie cutters before baking! Hey, I could use almond flour and make them Kosher for Passover! Nah, I'm better off making Easter themed cookies at Passover time, and save the Christmas cookies for Hanukkah.

Bunny shaped Passover cookies anyone?

I typically feel zero anxiety or anger (unless really provoked) when I am candida free. I wonder what conditions allow me to read. Reading has been really difficult lately for my college classes because my brain just keeps thinking about everything else in the world. This was briefly better earlier in the semester.

Right now I am just super tired, sleepy, from candida dieing off I guess. (seems to happen when it dies in my body, and in the intestines dieing it causes the anxiety)

I am sure my thyroid is hypo. I doubt my TSH levels go up much at all.

Has your husband checked for candida? Perhaps it is causing him issues. He could be an "explorer" and so certain meats could be good for him.

DoS...I have not genotyped hubby because I saw how specific Dr. D was with so many things and decided to leave it with the BTD for now.  My measurements were Warrior but he made me a Teacher.  He has been doing it since the weekend and he is already a much different man and told me himself he has never felt this good under so much stress.  Much is going on big time with his son.  At the moment BTD seems to be working and he is very much into doing the mental work.  When he gets cycling in negative thoughts we work on breathing and moving on.  It will be a process for us both...we each have our own stuff.  Doesn't everyone?

The book I spoke of came today.  It is nice...just a quote to meditate on each page.  Good book for the hubby for the bathroom....  Seriously.  We've decided to read one quote a day and discuss it and repeat it throughout the day.  We did that with one of the stories of the Tao books.  It's fun.

Concentration issues huh.  Yeah...been there.  TSH goes up when you are HYPO btw.  Just a thought to have it checked.  Perhaps you are truly bored with what you are involved in???  Could it be not food or health related?  Not judging...just a question.

Remember you can't have peace unless you are peace.

What would I even do if I had a lot of TSH?

I do have outside stress but I do what I can about that, always.

I use to like to do some thinking but frankly it is old and horrible these days. All I want is to dance creatively (haha not possible right now) and have fun with friends and the opposite sex .

Depending on how high it was you would have to start thyroid med.  If not too high diet and lifestyle may make a difference along with supps.  A real doc/ND would have to figure that out.

Well, make sure you do creative things, as an A it is a must.  Dance or create your own routines for later if you start with auditions and such.  I painted for a long time for myself before anyone bought anything.  My regular job used to be in design but it wasn't creative in a way I enjoyed and it was killing me.  I drew and did commissions on the side often for little or no money just to do something that "The Man" didn't control.  Eventually it took off and here I am living as an artist.  I have yet begun to see what i can do.  Just starting to get a groove and yet I'm making good money.

Being involved in something outside of yourself does amazing things for yourself and keeps the world needing you.

Speaking of that back to the art.

One thing nice about both being As is that it is so much cheaper!! AB is also cheap, too. I bet we spend a few times more on my food than Mr T's!  At least, he doesn't seem to mind!
I'm glad your hubby is enjoying the diet.  You can't tell a spouse what to do very easily!!
