I think Citric Acid is responsible for a lot of the issues people have - for whatever reason.
It may be the corn issue - where it is made from - the fact that it is made from a mould or Corn - both of which are avoid for O's. or because it is aknown source of hidden MSG. either way it irritates the skin and drys it out big time making it itch from the inside as well as the outside.
But it is an acid regulator and perhaps as such badly affects the skin, scalp on me and my daughter Both O's.
It also is in all of the tined foods and cosmetics that we both react badly to.
A few people have mentioned this in passing but I think it's more relevant than people think!
I discovered the link to our problems before the blood type angle which I now think is also very relevant, by the way.
I have tested the blood type theory on friends and family and it is right on the money. Especially after readjusting "avoids" and errors that have been updated since the first book –
I should be grateful for others views about this.
Thankls and kind regards |

I try to not eat foods containing citric acid.
I have sometimes eaten it. I react sometimes and not others.
It may be a concentration issue, but I assumed that I was reacting when the citric acid was derived from corn and not reacting when the citric acid came from other sources. |

Yup, it's an issue for me for sure. In my case, it's only the corn-derived stuff that bugs me.
The fact that high fructose corn syrup is from corn may have more to do with the problems it causes than the particular sugars that are in it (fructose from other sources doesn't cause the same problems).
Corn derivatives are in everything! I make my own juice and soda for starters. Can eat very few brands of commercially canned vegetables and fruits, especially tomatoes. |

SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT both of those acids are the same,, I'm not sure but they are both used to regulate acidity and they both upset my daughter's system so we don't touch anything with them in it - and about 90 % of stuff has either of them in it so no tins, no fruit drinks, no chemicals etc no normal washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets nothing gets by me without a fight now lol.
Perhaps Dr D can check this but since I have stopped using any chemicals while washing my hair it has gone from pretty grey to not quite so gray after all - could be the food also but I swear it has got darker -

Citric acid and ascorbic acid are not the same.
Citric Acid=C6H8O7 Ascorbic Acid=C6H8O6
If you look at their molecular structure there is a siginificant difference in how the atoms are arranged.
Commerical vitamin C is often ascorbic acid. It can also be sodium ascorbate, magnesium ascorbate, or other ascorbates.
