Lately I have come across more and more incidences of women who are blood type O+ who recieved a diagnosis of breast cancer.

I posted an article on my facebook page about using bitter melon to fight breast cancer because I knew that the supplement made from snails is only for types A and AB.

Can someone help by providing info as to what a woman who is blood type O should take? I remember hearing somthing about chemo being particularly hard on people of that blood type.

Thanks!

My own mother a type O+ and probably non-secretor is a 17 year survivor of breast cancer. She had a rough time on chemo, but her oncologist treated it aggresssively and thankfully she is still cancer free.

O's should probably avoid eating or taking soy foods/supps. Chemo changes the pH in the body particularly in the mouth. Mom still has issues with her mouth and she is prone to yeast. She takes B6,B12, and folate to help with these issues.

In regards to the facebook discussion of bitter melon  versus helix pomatia.

Bitter melon is an avoid for all blood types and all GenoTypes.

Helix pomatia is an avoid for type B secretors.

The good news is that for type Os that develop breast cancer there is a lower risk of death than for type As that develop breast cancer.

This is what type Os should eat to fight cancer:

Green Tea
Jackfruit
Tumeric
Oily cold water fish
Elderberries
Seaweed
Flaxseed oil
Walnuts
Broad beans
Domestic mushrooms
Onions
Broccoli
Garlic
Pomegranate
Guava
Blueberry
Cherries
Dill Weed
Tarragon

They might want to look at the cancer book:

Does this one book address all four blood types? That is the way it appears in the link.

it addresses all 8 types actually, because of the
nonnie status, as well as subtypes for A.....

In our area, Chicago, there is such a push for funding for breast cancer. There are walks & runs, etc. But they seem to promote more mammograms, etc....
There are so many natural ways to prevent this cancer. Just today after I saw yet another sign promoting something about it, I thought that I would go to some event & pass out brochures of how to prevent breast cancer.  Since our culture is so gung-ho about this, I  think it would be great if Dr. D wrote a tract sharing tips of how to prevent breast cancer. He could sell it to us in packs of 100 & of course market it to drs. & other health practitioners.
Some tips from the LaLeche fanatic(me):
1. Nurse your kids as long as possible. The stat is every month you nurse gives you 2 percentage points chance of avoiding it. So even if you have only 2 kids & only nurse a year each, thats 24 months & 48% chance of not getting it. However, I still don't know if later breastfeeding confers the same, more, or less immunity than earlier. Does having 4 kids that you nurse for a year each or 1 child that you nurse for 4 years do the same? I never heard the answer to that!
2. Eat plenty of fresh raw foods! Duh!!
3. Avoid pollutants. Duh!!
4. Exercise regularly.
5. Get sunlight when your shadow is shorter than your height.(That is the latest info. Apparently, there is no vitamin D absorption when it is longer!) Do not use sunscreen. In Northern climates, there is almost no risk of skin cancer if you are healthy(& eat healthy).
6. Avoid trans-fats & animal fats. Use olive oil, etc.
7. Do BTD, GTD, or SWAMI!
I bet Dr. D could write something & add more ideas. I'd love to get rid of cancer & I'm sure we can get rid of most of it easily!
