As a Type O very little. Many Type O on here that are nonnie prefer no grains. Corn is even worse for you than a secreter.
Change your avatar headline I guess. |

Hey Pardner! Welcome to the Nonnie club. As a non-secretor, just follow your food list and that will be provided for you either with your Genotype book, or your Swami, depending on which one you work with. That part is made simple for you. My strong belief is that nonnies have less leeway to be careless with our bodies. This is why I am so utterly motivated to follow my GTD diet, because I have come to see how I was destroying my health. Eating right for your type will tilt the scales back in your favor so that you will be able to improve your health, normalize your weight, heal your body and avoid many, if not all, of the diseases that you were headed toward, because of your own inherited tendencies. So . . it's all good! |

Victoria~ I finished the ER4YT a week or so ago and have just received my LR4YT and was waiting until I knew my secretor status before beginning it. I think someone mentioned we have more options with food as a nonnie |

Do the tendons on his wrist show? I have been having migraines the last week. When I was a child I had them or headaches, not sure. Tylenol and a nap use to fix it. Now only flaxseed does. I am visiting my father and he has a bunch of non-stick pans I am wondering if they have anything to do with it. That or candida coming back and forth or something... I got no idea. |

Thank you to all for the warm welcome to Nonnieville. When I first found out it felt like the wind had been taken out of my sails and I'm not sure why However reading this and beginning my journey through LR4YT last evening it's felling better Thank you all for your advice and encouragement |

What now? Well, get used to figuring out your own health problems and being direct with the doctor about what you need. I don't think doctors know what to do with me, besides shaking their heads and offering antidepressants |

Plucky~ Ironic, I have benn going through this with MD's for years. Having to be very strong (not an issue with me) with them and at time almost having to argue with them. And this is all good as I am very much one who has to have answers/research to make decisions good for me. |

Golf~ I usually just end up leaving in tears and then go do my own thing. I've just recently gotten mad enough to stand up for myself and tell the doctor that if she wouldn't order what I wanted I'd just find an independent lab to do my allergy testing. Now I'm a little nervous about seeing her today Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to do without docs when it comes to monitoring my anemia and getting the allergy meds I need certain times of the year, and BTD/GTD isn't a miracle cure for everything, especially if you end up being allergic to some of your beneficial/diamond foods. |

I am grateful for the fact that my non-secretor status was a wake-up call for me. When I thought I was a secretor, I was not as consistent with the BTD and I didn't take it quite so seriously. Once I realized I am a nonnie, I dived in wholeheartedly! This will probably lengthen my life because my health has improved so much over the years of working this program.
Something like 20% of people are non-secretors, and 80% of people who present in doctor's offices with health problems are non-secretors. Mostly, doctors don't know what to do with us, because they don't understand. |

I have to say, I kinda like being a nonnie. I might have a bunch of oddball health issues, but I very rarely suffer with a cold or the flu, unlike everyone else around me, and as long as I stick to BTD those other issues are pretty minimal. |

DOS, DH tendons don't show in wrists, but he is overweight. He said that they did show when he was younger and a normal weight. I don't remember. My tendons show in both wrists and ankles but SWAMI still put me as a gatherer. But I also lift on Bowflex. Will know what he is by end of the week, after SWAMI arrives. |

First of all Plucky, you are NOT crazy... Copy the below into your browser and see if the protocol for stress could help you..? http://www.dadamo.com/protocols/5.htmlLook at going to her as an experiment to gather info and make your decisions after..? If "she" doesn't want to "play" with you ask to see another Dr..? Cheers! |

Totally sympathise Plucky. A Dermatologist I saw, I started crying asking for a pathology test he was refusing me and he said "what are you so worried about this for?" Well because it hurts. Duh! He also told me that I don't have a rare disease or anything. Well 8 years later and I still have it (white patches and painful sores in the roof of the mouth along with other autoimmune problems) and am finally going to see a rhuematologist about it in January. Gee they don't like it when you've researched things on the internet and know about rare conditions and challenge them. Pretty sure it's oral lichen planus, but this time I won't mention that to the Dr |

I actually like the doctor I have now because she actually listens to me....first one ever. I was able to remain calm during my appointment yesterday, explaining exactly why I want a specific blood test done for allergies and why I had no interest in going to see another allergist or just using corticosteriods to keep my esophageal infammation under control. After listening she said okay and ordered the test. I don't think she'd have agreed to it if I hadn't done a lot of reading and had some rational support behind my request. She's seems to be a very rare doctor, and I don't just mean her flaming red hair with leopard skin tights and hoochie boots. |

Symbi, you don't use cinnamon flavored oral products, do you? They leave me with horrible sores in my mouth. My doc couldn't figure it out...just had me swishing with this nasty stuff that coats the inside of your mouth, like an ulcer medicine. My dentist is pretty smart though |

That's great Plucky, it will be great to know what things you're allergic too, good on you. Well done for being so level headed. She probably knows taking steroids is not the answer, better to avoid your triggers. My Doc is a bit like that, she doesn't prescribe tablets willie-nillie and actually told me once I should go to a naturopath! Dentists and other health professionals can really help. My physio is an , diagnosed dislocated knee cap that a specialist years ago didn't I've been sticking with the same GP for a while and it's good to build up a relationship, I needent? have been so scared to see her recently (the time before she was a bit harsh with me telling me there's nothing wrong with me and I've had alot of tests already ). Spoke rationally to her and she's ordered a basic checkup blood test. Got a few specialist appointments coming up, but if I plan ahead and write thoughts out before I go then I should be right! The research really helps too, so you can know what they are talking about, can ask questions and don't get confused by the lingo. I don't use cinnamon but thanks for the suggestion. Avoiding alcohol mouthwash and sodium laureth sulphate has helped a bit. But still I have white inflammation in the mouth no matter what I do ! So hanging for diagnosis! January hopefully! You must be hanging for allergy results, let us know |
