I just received my secretor test. Does anyone who has taken a secretor test have any advice before I take it |

Go into it well hydrated! You should always drink plenty of water, but day before a saliva test, make extra effort to drink up (water , that is). |

Read all the instructions first. I remember something about waiting 1 hour after eating or brushing teeth and I almost overlooked that (I am not exactly sure of the timing, but just make sure you know).
I produce a lot of saliva. Be patient. I think it took me about 30 minutes to get all the saliva I needed.

Don't count the "bubbles" when checking to see if you have enough saliva in the tube. You may want to wait until after Thanksgiving to mail it due to the post office being closed during the holiday? Of course, I would not be able to wait and you live very close to the mailing address state! |

Well, this is exciting! Drink water, drink, drink, drink! (water) As others have said, this is not the time to be dehydrated. Can't wait to hear what kind of critter you are! |

Nobody else could do the crazy thing that I did, which was to store a secretor test package for someone else in the cold oven while I temporarily thought of a place to keep it, then several days later, heated the over prior to putting in some food, and soon found a melted container therein! It had the potential to bust a beautiful friendship, but in the end we went down the lewis path, and all was mended. I wonder if the GTD will cure my senior moments? |

Very funny--I could see myself doing that--easy to put things in oven and forget, then heat later... |

Dear "follow the instructions" ~ didn't see it on any of the paperwork with the kit, that is the reason for the question... |

Hey, go for it! Really nothing to it and was not that difficult to "donate" the min amount. Just be careful of the no food or drink before (30 min) precaution. Let us knwo the results! |

Just did mine this a.m. when I woke up. Rinsed with water and had no problem getting minimum...I just didn't swallow for the five-minute wait period. Not sure how long it will take to get on-line results--but the results should be interesting. Now, I'm off to my local Fed-Ex... |
