Do you eat much oil or fat with either the meat or the rice?  How much do you do use?  Distributing my concentrated protein (beast, bird, or fish) with ghee, a suitable spice, and lots of veggies, all cut up is has helped me loose weight.

Now, I know that you are going in the opposite direction - to build active tissue mass not to cut down the inactive tissue.  The unusual point is that, although I have lost fat, there has been no deterioration in my muscle level.  With my almost corpse-like activity level, that is something to note.  When I lost 120 lbs in the nineties, the muscle loss I experienced with my weight loss was noticeable in my thighs.

I think that ghee or one of the healthy oils cooked with your concentrated protein will help your health.


My weight loss goal: 220 lbs.  A 6'4" dyslexic oddball: the size of a line-backer, the silhouette of Winnie-the-Pooh.

..the real question of mine should have been
A2Bnonni Explorer and meats..... when we do convert it into fatcells on our body (onto ) and when it might be a real beneficial .....especially when nearly all carbs might be hell .... ok please tell me in the next few days that I am a mis-spelled-viewed  nohter .........


ahem... little to my new intp-O-nonnie-explo-bro...sorry dearle but I am more then persuated that the booklets of Louise Hay would work wonders for you....get for pic-settelings... work with your immagination
and settle for weeks..months and your subconcsient mind will do for your

My husband an A1+ non sec has lamb and mutton as neutral in his Swami thifty Warrior lists (only once a week though).  On the other hand I am a Swami receptor warrior (A2+) and I have been given no access to red meats at all. !!

Cristina, may I ask you to confirm that those two happy smilies ending your post mean that you are quite ok with not eating red meat at all ?

I'm really curious about it.

I'm an A and, as I already said in your swami thread, I don't feel I'd be able to eat meat only very occasionally, if ever.

Swami makes an Explorer out of me. A "small" Explorer though: only 40%. This means, I suppose, that any change in the data I'd input could send me back to another GT. Would probably be Warrior, then my large shares of meat (red meat and poultry 3 servings /week each) would disappear.

I think that if you feel satisfied with an almost vegetarian diet, it means that swami "guessed" you correctly, like it guessed ME rightly by allowing more meat to me.

I'm asking this because, from my point of view, it is difficult to understand how it is possible to be satisfied with a vegetarian diet. But my point of view is, I assume, very much influenced by my body's needs...

I ask this question to the other Warriors too, of course.

I do not miss meat at all, even when I could eat it because I did not know any better, I did not eat much of it.  Could it be the fact that when I was a very young child I nearly choked by sucking a small piece of steak.  It got stuck on my throat, I was gasping for air,  and while everyone was screaming around me, one of my aunts put her fingers down my throat and somehow pull it out!! or so the story goes in the family ...  Or maybe is my genes that know better than me and try to stop me from doing too much damage.  mmmm, but no, I have never acquire that taste ..  

I eat fish, but I cannot eat too much of it either.  I eat eggs, but do not 'love' them as such, the same goes with cheese.  In other words it is not hard for me to be moderate with all these.  Ahh, my greens, I do not mind my greens, the salad types in summer and steamed ones in winter, but strugle to reach my portions sometimes.    

To think of it, if it was left to my taste, I think I could happily live on rice, lentils, some beans,  fruits and nuts.  I think that makes me a natural Warrior or Teacher?

I'm also satisfied with very little meat in my diet.  As a high school student, I tried the Atkins diet for a year or two and it never helped to lose weight or make my skin glow. I was eating like an O Hunter for many years and all I did was gain weight and feel lousy.  Now that I've started only eating lamb and turkey a couple times/week, I notice the difference in myself and my true physical, mental, and emotional self is feeling more like me.

It is interesting.

Actually I don't really know why I think so much about this question of meat.

For years I've wished I could be a vegetarian, out of ethic grounds and out of environmental ones too, but I never became one even if I ate meat only twice a week. I believe it's time for me to put an end to this self questioning, aknowledge I need meat on a regular basis and stop feeling guilty about it. Meat and poultry toghether will be in my plate three times a week, fish two times, and soy or ricotta or paneer the two remaining days (I don't eat beans).

I'm not really quite sure what your question is, but I do eat fat.  I typically have some kind of fat with every meal.  Either coconut oil, ghee, or olive.  Besides what the meat may have in it.  If I have meat.  If I eat beans I typically add some cheese.  My system is kind of weird, I feel like I need meat, but if I eat too much, it's no good.  I have to keep my portions smaller.  Like if I go to a restaurant and eat all they gave me, I'd go into shock practically.  Or like a choma, yet my heart rate goes up to 100 trying to digest my food.  Now that may be more of a function of the imbalance of flora that I'm trying to get back in line.  It's getting there, but has some work to go.

But as far as fats go, I eat a little more than recommended on swami and I still dropped cholesterol by 40 points.  And my good cholesterol is always really high.  And oh yeah, I take a teaspoon of cod liver oil every day.  There are times where I just crave fats.  I have to restrain myself.  

And yes, I eat grains.  I think they help keep some weight on me.  I think it may be that I'm just meant to be skinny.  I always growing up.  I would've like to think I was stocky, because I was a football player and wrestler and of course a guy wanting to be as tough as everyone else.  But everyone that knows me tells me I was always thin.  I'm probably a little thinner than I should be, but at this point all I can figure is my gut flora still have some balancing to go, and I don't lift weights any longer and my excercise consists of picking up kids and changing them and playing with them at the daycare I work at.  Which is something, but nothing super heavy muscle building.  

I could probably eat fish every day of the week.  I LOVE the dark meat on turkey which probably means like you said Isa, or whatever you're calling yourself now, I'm craving the seretonin.  I take tryptophan as a supplement.  I will eat plantains every once in a while took, but they're pretty sugary.  I crave the skin too.  On fish and turkey.  If I had just those two things for my protein intake, I'd probably be fine.  But lamb is still not so good for me.  And beans are good sometimes, sometimes kind of heavy.  Soybeans always digest well.  Eggs are great for me and cheese is good, in smaller amounts.  I don't do yoghurt any longer or kefir.  Just doesn't do well.  Probably if I just had tiny bits mixed in with something else it'd be OK.  

So my B doesn't speak up very much when eating meets.  Except that I turkey seems really good.  Which really could be an A thing also.  My system really is strange.  I've been eating tomatoes lately and they seem to be good for me.  

Would I benefit from getting lewis tested for my A?  and how do I do that?  And how would it help me?

Lewis testing requires a blood test and will usually confirm your secretor status!

I don't know if it is possible that you could be a Lewis Double negative. LDN is rare but has wide ranging repercussions.  It is somewhat like being a extra strength non-secretor, in terms of weirdness.  The more you know about your specific genetics, the more you are equipped to understand your health.

This is the great advantage that Dr. D' Adamo offers: specificity.

As an AB, I can only have small portions of any meat at one time.  About 3 oz at most.  Otherwise I'm uncomfortable trying to digest any more meat and don't become hungry until almost 24 hrs later. I don't have the HCL for too much meat. I don't take dairy or fish either (I am very allergic to these) and unfortunately the allergic foods make me behave so delirious and weird. The compatible beans (Great Northern, Cannellini, Lentils, and Split Peas) give me a lot of energy. Soy is an avoid, and eggs are neutral.

Shelly, you're worse than I.  Hmmm.......  I guess I'm doing better than I thought.  Have you always been like that?  I remember being little going to restaurants with my Dad, and he'd get mad because I couldn't finish my meal.  And I'd always go to the bathroom at some point to "try and make room".   At least that was my thinking back then.  On top of that it was always something super unhealthy like a corn dog and fries.

I need my larger portions of animal proteins... especially lamb is da bombe for me and fish....all kind of fishles... lentils give me too much of gas and soyproducts as well and I tested em and it is once listened as a bene and then as a no-no.... so far I really like to trust my Vegatester...
