I found eat right at age 40 in 2000. I remember the HFS I was in. I was getting ready to check out and I looked across the room at the bookcase and the title jumped out at me. It was love at first sight. I immediately knew what they were talking about when they said 'type'..and a light bulb went off in my head.. But of course, no one size fits all BS..!!!
Later I bought LR when it came out and that book helped me with so much more than diet. I learned that o's don't like financial stuff hanging over their heads. My lifestyle has changed radically since I realized how true that is for me. Buying what I can afford, paying my bills down ever since and my business took off.. I no longer had the burden of paying bills to worry about and could concentrate on helping my clients.
When I found the books back in 2000 my life was a mess and I was mentally foggy. I purchased things on impulse and my energy was scattered. I would waste money in the grocery and HF stores searching and testing..
Here I am almost 10 years later and I have homes in Florida and the northeast and I have been snowbirding since 2006.. I'm never too hot or cold and don't stay bored very long. I no longer struggle with the guessing game that diet and life used to be. I'm not thin like I'd prefer to be. I guess I like my red wine and eating too much.. But the mental part is the most important to me. I could never haved approached this kind of life without LR. At 50, I can't imagine how much better it will get in the next 10 years..
Sometimes I shudder to think what my life would be like or where I'd be had I not glanced across the HFS before I turned to go out the door that day...Scary thought..
Don't let LR be just a diet book. All of the advice on how to live is beneficial.. |

I really like the part about not liking financial stuff hanging. I did not receive my Live Right book yet, it's en route from Amazon. I am just like that, have to pay down down my mortgage almost done. That is a feat on this island ! Don't have credit card debt either. Don't have any snow bird locations.....but I live on Kauai ! |

It is quite the feat there. I visted oahu on a couple of times (on another company's dime) and I loved it.. I'm not sure you need a snow bird location with Hawaii.. I didn't grow up in the muggy summers of S. Florida, so as i got older it really became unberable..
It really made a difference for me to clean up my debts..I don't have a mortgage on either of my homes. I got rid of the wants and concentrated on the needs along the way and got it done. It's kind of like a snowball going downhill, once you get it going in the right (or wrong) direction it gains momentum..
Good luck with L/R. I wasn't perfectly complaint along the way food wise. But when I did step off, the book helped me understand what I was experiencing. Spending wise I was VERY compliant.. |
