Another A who has it every morning - just juice of half a lemon at room temperature. I haven't noticed it making any difference to mucus though yet, and I have been doing it for a year or two now, with short break a few months back. |

My dentist asked me not to drink lemon juice regularly. He said it would erode tooth enamel. He said that he sees lots of people with eroded tooth enamel and most of them - when asked - regulary drink lemon juice diluted with water.
I read on the celiac page that gluten intolerance can cause tooth enamel issues. Dee |

I don't believe that your dentist was telling the truth. If more people were drinking lemon water less people would have teeth problems. Once lemon mixes with your saliva it turns alkaline... not acid. When I drink lemon water I don't have teeth problems. It's when I forget to drink it that I have problems.
Also, as Lola stated before... "use a straw". Just by pass your teeth if you are worried.
As for dental health... I have been reading the book "Heal You Teeth Naturally" and one thing is mentions is to gets the nutrient rich foods that your body is lacking. For each one of us that means compliantly follow your blood type. Using ghee from unpasteurized butter called "Butter Oil" from a company called Green Pasture, is the only place I've found it. What you are needing from the butter oil is vitamin K. Specifically vitamin K2 of the MK-4 form. This is nearly impossible to find. I've searched for the right amount of vitamin K2 for quite awhile and finally found someone that sells it and I am ordering it wholesale to sell in my health store.
Vitamin K drives the calcium and other minerals into the bones and teeth where it belongs.
I was told by my dentist that I would have to have a root canal and that all my dental work would cost me every last penny I had in savings plus some. So I started to search for a natural way to heal my teeth. I finally have and they are remineralizing. |

A little off topic but Christa I wanted to ask you if butter oil is different from ghee that comes from pasture fed cows. I use this http://www.pureindianfoods.com/Is it considered butter oil? |

Sure looks like the same to me. I buy butter from pasture fed cows and make my own ghee from that. |

I have periods when I do lemon and water every morning before breakfast. I find it kick starts my system as well as it is a great alkalizer before beginning the day. Since I homeschool my boys, we all do lemon and water at the same time. Haven't done that routine since before Christmas though. I guess it's about that time again |

@christaalyssaA+:
Good for you. That's great to hear. NEVER listen to dentists. They have wronged the population on so many levels. From fluoride to mercury, among the most toxic substances to the human body. Many will tell you that you need "dental work" just because they are interested in the contents of your wallet.
And, yes, they get paid 'very' handsomely.
Good luck with your teeth. |

Oh, and let's not forget these "necessary" scans they take of your teeth. It's always good to expose your brain to radiation, no? Alright, I'm off. |

You need this as a choice in your poll: "I've tried and I HATE it!" That would be me. I HATE water with lemon at any temperature. I don't like it by itself. I don't like it with honey. I don't like it with salt. I do NOT like it, Sam I Am! blech....just thinking about it makes me shudder...... |

I drink it when the mood strikes me- sometimes lemon juice in cold water, sometimes grapefruit juice in cold water, sometimes lemon (and/or grapefruit) in green tea or rooibos tea. Lemon in water isn't specifically part of my routine though. |

Princess Mia is right! I drink it just because of my mucous issues.....in cold water, every morning before eating or drinking anything else! |

I've tried it for the past week but it really upsets my stomach and gives me acid reflux. Very disappointed as I enjoyed drinking it. Michelle |

I drink it every morning on an empty stomach. I got started on it 5 years ago when I was having gallbladder/liver problems and I have kept it up ever since. I use the juice of 1 lemon in 16 oz. of hot water. It works well with my system. |

It gives me an acid stomach also. Citrus is a very treacherous path to walk, in my case. |

Chloe, my dentist also warned me about drinking citrus drinks... he said people who drink them have by far the most cavities... Fresca, 7-Up, etc, he was talking about. I've never heard of drinking lemon juice and hot water, and he didn't mention it... blah... that would really rip my stomach out. And if it makes you have a BM I KNOW I won't drink it... sheesh... I just got that stopped!!!!! |

Excuse me, can anyone tell me what oil-pulling is, in regard to healing cavities??? Never mind, I found it... But I don't see how swishing oil around in your mouth will detoxify other parts of your body other than your mouth... |

drinking citrus drinks... he said people who drink them have by far the most cavities
that has more to do with all that excessive sugar content in those carbonated drinks, plus the flavors, the additives and the junk......and if that were not enough, those drinks leach out essential calcium from bones, including teeth.......horrible! |

I started drinking room temp water with lemon in the morning just because I heard that it can help with spider veins....I dony know if that is true or not, but I would do anything to get rid of them! I have noticed that it helps with mucus. I wish I could get my AB hubby to drink it. He's very mucus-y. Ewwww gross..... lol |

Hi all,
Short of reading every post in this thread, how does the temperature of the water effect the drink? I saw a few post about putting it in tea, does it have the same effect or does it have to be warm water only?
I tried for a few days putting it into warm water but it was just not enjoyable for me. Hot or cold is the way I would like to drink it.

I like to drink my water hot with the lemon in it. I use my filtered water in my tea kettle and heat it up. I love, love lemons and am glad they are a diamond for me. |
