I've been on the BTD for less than a month, and I'm currently dealing with that unpleasantness involving irritability, bloating, cramps, chocolate cravings, etc.

I've got my red raspberry leaf tea. I'm eating lots of "beneficials" today and most of them are high in B vitamins and iron. But I still want CHOCOLATE!!!!!

I don't know but it sounds good. I occasionally eat dark chocolate, it has less sugar and I look for organic with the least amount of chemicals and no corn syrup. Usually a small piece is all I need. Or you can make yourself a cup of hot cocoa using a compliant milk substitute, organic choc powder and agave or compliant sweetener.

I had some trail mix last night- a mixture of pumpkin seeds, walnuts, dried blueberries, and nondairy chocolate chips. Yeah, the chips have sugar and soy lecithin, but mixed with all the beneficials in the trail mix I figured it was a good (and yummy!) compromise.

Now I'm thinking I want some hot cocoa. I'm sure I can come up with something tasty with cocoa powder and molasses..

The soy lecithin is fine...it's not like regular soy.  You may be craving magnesium or B vitamins! Personally, as a chocoholic myself (I prefer the 72% Endangered Species brand) a little dark chocolate is supposed to be good for you (and it tastes so darn good!)

Even I am getting into chocolate now, as a Gatherer (it is a diamond superfood, afterall).  Only I prefer mine in the form of pure cocoa powder, which I then add to all manner of fruit smoothies.  Some come out better than others *lol*!

At some point, I am going to try a "mole" sauce on a savory poultry dish or the like.  According to gcg, a good mole sauce really rocks.

Hmmmmm, I am not a big fan of chocolate.  Maybe my tastes will change on the GTD and I will find that I like it.

I have never understood the desire people have for chocolate, because my downfall was caramels mmmmmmmmmmmmm...  No diamond food there, no sirry.  I don't crave them anymore since the BTD, I was able to beat that caramel monkey off my back.

I second the Endangered Species brand.  Some of them have beet sugar which doesn't affect me like cane sugar.

I did an experiment with chocolate back about 6 years ago when I actually  had periods () and PMS.  I thought it was the sugar that people were craving.  So I bought some Baker's unsweet chocolate (back before it had milk in it) and ate a big piece of it during the throes of the worst of it, and it was hard to get down, let me tell ya.  But pretty soon I did feel better!  So I determined it was indeed the chocolate, and not the sugar, that makes you feel better.

Caaarrraaaaammmmmeeeellll Frosty...was one of my favorites too. That is one of the reasons I loooovvvveee ghee...it smells and tastes like caramel to me.  

On Gatherer, I have one little square of 99% dark in my tea in the morning. Otherwise, I don't have one past noon as I can't sleep at night.   Even with doing the O exercise.

I'm also taking my b complex and my cal/mag and my extra mag, so I'm sure I'm getting plenty of those.

But there's just something about chocolate....

I did have some hot cocoa this afternoon. I mixed cocoa powder in hot water, added a bit of molasses, tasted it, and then added a bit of stevia. It wasn't as good as the kind I used to make with coconut milk pre-BTD,  but it was still yummy.

I love ghee tooooo.  I could easily get carried away with it, so, I use it sparingly.

When I start back on the GTD in April I will try the dark in my tea and see if I like it.  Until then I will follow the BTD and do the best that I possibly can while on vacation.

Not for an A!  Maybe a Tbsp. of blackstrap molasses?  Somebody try that next time and tell me if it helps, will you?  I won't have the chance for at least another 1 1/2 years (lucky me ).

Oh my god...ribbit....that was incredibly delicious....even though choc is a black dot for me..I always just assumed the cocoa powder had to be cooked. Exactly what i need to replace hershey bars. Thank you thank you thank you.

We like it with carob powder too.  I assume you're talking about the chocolate spread on a rice cake.  Kinda hits the spot, doesn't it?

I would think during certain times of the month when things are ... at "unrest" for lack of a better word ... this snack would be very nourishing.

Chocolate Tofu Pudding

1 14 Oz Package Soft Silken Tofu (I like House Foods soft silken or Mori-Nu firm silken)
1/3 Cup Pure Cocoa Powder
1/3 Cup Agave Nectar (feel free to use a little more if you want it sweeter)
1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract

1. Place all the ingredients in a food processor and blend to combine.
2. Scrape down the sides of the food processor and blend again to make sure everything is incorporated.
3. Serve immediately or chilled.

I made some up(the agave, cocoa and ghee) and took it to my grandchildren..one gatherer 0 and one teacher A, and my son is teacher A, and daughter in law is gatherer 0...and neither of the teachers liked it that much. But the gatherers thought it was superb. I'm going to make some up and put in freezer and see what happens. i feel like i've discovered Alaska.

I made it a second time and put over my raspberries/pineapple. Too much cocoa. Tasted like dark chocolate...but with less cocoa..tastes like milk chocolate.
