Is there info on how you age affects your improvement on the diet? I know that Dr. D says over 50? needs more %age of beneficials.
But how about the health improvement in general? I would think it would take longer as one has more years of pollution, bad diet, etc. to overcome. But a young person may have been on drugs & exposed to chemicals at work, etc., while a middle-aged person had good habits, but not BTD. I would think the middle-aged person may recover faster or at the same rate as the younger one in that case.
The big Q is: If all factors are equal, how different is the recovery for a 20, 40, 60, & 80 year old? All you young ones out there: Notice how many of us there are over 50 who made the change later in life. You can do it, too, & you have more time to work it out!! |

That's me also Mrs. T. At this point in my life, I'm going by how I feel. I've been eating the wrong foods for many years. I'd say I'm 85% to 90% compliant to the GTD..and as I said before, there are some things I refuse to give up. Tomatoes is one of them. Corn is the other.. The last time I was here, tried the diet and left was because of tomatoes. It's my culture, my tradition. This time, I won't let tomatoes keep me from getting all the other wonderful benefits from the diet. In the GTD book, tomatoes are a black dot. And that's how I'm eating them. I treat corn as a black dot also. |

I think age might contribute somewhat, but more likely than age is individual genetics. Those who can detox faster, and those who have the "so called" longevity genes,I think would have a bit of an advantage. |

I'm going to be 66 in two weeks. I agree with Rex that it's the best plan I've ever followed.
If I avoid cancer and heart disease, diabetes and live to a ripe old age and simply die in my sleep when I'm really OLD, I will be more than happy!
I have felt a slow but steady positive transformation since I began the Warrior diet and my life keeps changing for the better (minus a few setbacks with healing issues) and each time I remind myself how i felt last January when the GTD book came out, I know I'm in much better shape. I just don't expect to undo my age all over my body and wind up young! I wish, but that's not a realistic expectation. It might be for a child...someone growing.. forming their anatomy...their immune system...I honestly believe there are benefits for everyone, but how lucky are the young ones on this board...if they can pass their improved genetics onto the next generation!
Yes my fantasy is to wish I was 20 now and doing this diet so my genetics could have been altered before I had two children....I wish I could have raised my children on a genotype diet...even the blood type diet....I wish I had known then what I know now.
But still I'm grateful for where I am now...how fortunate I feel that I was in the right place at the right time to have found this diet!
I don't think how old or young a person is...as long as they actually follow the BTD or the GTD, they will receive benefits....maybe some benefits they will never really know they've received!

I don't think age matters, either. We've been at this for 10 years so my husband was 69 at the time and had immediate improvement when he went on the A type way of eating. As for me, I have never been off the charts in my eating so I don't remember whether I felt any immediate improvement or not. I've learned a lot on this forum and will follow the BTD as long as I live. I do appreciate learning where to buy supplements and products online......that's great. For instance I learned about Dr. John Lee right here on this forum. So, it's information like that I wouldn't get elsewhere. This is the only forum I'm on. It's a good question to ask, though, Mrs. T. and I'll be interested in the opinions of others. |

I'm 26 and encountered a health issue of chronic inflammation about 4 years ago which was exacerbated by burnt foods 2 years ago when I worked at a resturant making pizzas. Every now and then a pizza was acidentally burnt a little and we would put it aside and make another one. Well I sometimes ate some of the burnt ones and guess what disabiling pain followed for 2 years and now on the GTD finally the pain is gone and I'm recovering fast. So word to everyone out there watch out for the burnt foods. I have the rest of my life to recover and already seeing some great things . |

I believe Teachers and Warriors are quick to heal their problems once on the right plan, if the havoc created by bad food choices and stress is not yet deep, as often for young persons. For sure personral stress dealing skills and enhanced genetic detoxification are a good advantage. May be some middle aged and old persons do not accept to change their food habits, or find difficult to do it, so youth and flexibility are another better start point. Maria Giovanna |
