Since we discussed it here before, I'll title this 10/2008. I hadn't fasted for some time, tho I advocated it. A group was to have a day of fasting yesterday, so last Thursday I thought I would do a 'dry run' to see if I could do it or to see how long I could that day to prepare for Wed. As a Gatherer, I still get the 'munches' so thought I would have more trouble fasting. But it went well & I got thru the whole day. Then yesterday, I also did it without much trouble. One thing I did differently was to take an extra chromium tablet the night before. I already take a large dose in the morning, but did this & it might have helped. There may be more fasting coming up, so I have learned that, even tho when eating I still get too hungry, I can still fast when needed. Any other experiences for GTD & fasting? I do a 22-24 hr fast twice a week most weeks. I do drink green teas though during that time. I dont find it hard at all and I actually feel more energized and less bloated on those days, even though now Im eating at least 90% compliant Im still having weight issues I do my fasts from dinner to dinner though so makes it really easy. Meaning I eat an early dinner on the evening before a fast and then eat dinner at my regular time the next day.

I do drink water during a fast. It would be bad not to, altho a friend who used to be a Pentecostal, said they would fast till 3PM, but not drink. I guess that isn't too long, but doesn't sound healthy. Sometimes, a 24-hr. fast helps, and yes, after you do it a while, you feel pretty good. There may be more days of fasting ahead, & it's a good thing to do. It also saves money in food & supps. Then you may need fewer supps as you clean your system. S S & L, Mrs "T" O+
