Hi all- I'm sure you've seen this request several times, but here goes- can someone direct me how to discover my secretor status? I've been working on my major fatigue issues, using the "Fatigue-Fight it with the BTD book", having good results, but I want to fine tune things. I think I need to confirm one way or another my status. I'm new to this forum, so thanks. |

Welcome nct!
It is great to have you on the Blood Type forums.
Find out my secretor status was a great help to me in dealing with my health issues. So I highly encourage you to get the testing done.
I was going to explain to you how to get a shield displaying your blood type. But you are so quick!! That you did not need any help from me.
Hope to see more of your posts in the future. |

Thanks everyone. And yep, I happened to see another post, where someone talked about the shield and their blood type, so I just did it too. And when I get my sec status one way or another, I'll update. |

Hi and welcome aboard! I am new also and trying to figure out how to use this forum. I ordered the secretor test online through Dr dadamos website. I just sent in my saliva sample 20 minutes ago. The DHL man came to pick up the sample. Its suppose to take 10 days (working) and results can be obtained online w/ a code number. I want to know more too, Im sick and tired of being sick and tired. Good luck! Diane PS. Or they can mail you your results its your choice! |

Hello - I'm hoping someone can help me with my questions on sending in the secretor test sample. I have the kit and on reading the instructions it isn't clear about how to mark the label. I got a Fed Ex envelope and label and it isn't marked as to whether I send it next day, or 2-day, etc. I'm the shipping person where I work and am used to filling out the entire weigh-bill, this seems very incomplete and I know my Fed Ex driver is going to ask!
Thank you |

Yes, I understand that part just fine - will do so as soon as I find a time I haven't eaten or had anything for drink for 30 minutes - sheesh! Didn't realize I was always putting something in my mouth!!! I guess I'll choose next day on the form since I don't have to pay for it. |

I am very new to this site. 1st post actually. Can my doctor run this test rather that me paying the $50 or so to order it online? I follow a LC diet and knew from milk issues as a baby that I have a dairy problem. Never seemed to affect me as a skinny kid and I only know it does now b/c of following LC for soo long that if I have too much cheese, cream, creamer in coffee (which i found out coffee is a no no for me too from this site)sour cream, etc. I lose alot slower. I also think I have candida and recently found out I am diabetic.Taking steps to correct lots and want to know my secretor status as well. TY for any help. |

Hi no wheat. Welcome!
The secretor test ordered online is the most accurate and least expensive way to find out. It is a saliva test that most labs don't handle. NAP has an arrangement with a lab in NC that works out very well. If your doctor were able to run a test it would be the Lewis test which is more expensive and is more difficult for the lab to get an accurate result.

Hi & Thank you Lloyd. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask b/c my doc is fairly inexpensive (1 fee for even my bloodwork I had done) and it doesn't cost $50 to see her. But I will stick to what I know and follow type O and when I get any extra $ I will get the kit. TY for explaining, appreciate it. |

Just been checking around Australia and find that Path Lab in Burwood, Victoria seems to be still the only one doing secretor tests that I can find down under. It costs about A$42.35 plus postage. Funny thing is that several other labs sent me on referral trips to each other but finally after being sent up the line to explain what the saliva secretor test they had not heard of it, apart from one who said that it is done in the U.S. Path Lab phone 03 8831 3000 or 1300 660 968, taking 7-10 days |

if I have found lewis testing done here in any large hospital, am sure you can find it done in your country as well! call the blood bank of any large private clinic and ask. |
