Can anyone explain this phenomemon? One of the first things that both my husband and I noticed after giving up wheat & dairy was that our faces got thinner (not so puffy). It doesn't seem to be weight-loss related because I have lost 5 pounds (and am keeping it off) but my husband has not lost any weight and still his face is noticably thinner than before. Of note, my husband is not as compliant as I am which I think exlains why he has not lost weight. Neither of us is overweight so weight loss is not something that either of us was trying to do. We were just lookiing for good health...& I know that the BTD does accomplish that. |

Hi, I just posted in "not losing weight" about the fact that my face looks 10 years younger. I also read that those little puffy jowls lose ther puffiness when you drop the wheat and dairy. I think it is because they are both inflammatory, especially to O's. I am new so I am sure you will get better answers from those that have been on it longer. Jean |

Oh Rex...this is soooooo true. It seems that the face gets it and it will depend on how compliant you are. The first thing I notice whenever I have eaten an avoid (wheat and dairy are really, really bad for this)is that my face will be puffy and people are telling me I look tired. I find that my eyelids get really puffy, along with cheeks and get a little more of my double chin back, and I look like I could use some cosmetic eyelid surgery. My right eye is usually worse than the left. Getting back to eating right, drinking plenty of water and fluids and the O exercise really helps to get this back to normal. The more compliantly you eat to your blood type the better looking you get. Debra |

So I'm not imagining it...good to know I'm not the only one who has experienced the thinner face benefit. |

I suspect that at least part of the reason why your face gets thinner is the rebalancing of water in your cells. It could also be due to a reduction of inflammation in the lymph system. |

Oh yeah...that lymph system, I almost forgot about that...that reminds me that perhaps bouncing on my rebounder everyday may be helping me more than I realize. My husband rebounds daily too. |

Avoid sugar/sweeteners and cut back on your fruit, particularly the high sugar ones, and you will also reduce the wrinkles on your face. |

Ahh, so this is not peculiar to me? At first I thought that it was allergies (swollen eyelids, puffed up face, etc.) but it reduced with reduction and elimination of avoids. Was so bad that I refused to turn the bathroom lights on in the morning so I would not have see myself in the mirror Hugs Andrew |

Along with the face, my hands and feet would be a tell tale also, as they would get puffy and swollen too. Debra |

Lola...not to worry...because sadly much of the population either doesn't know about this wonderful BTD or of those who do know about it, they claim that they don't have the resolve to follow it. All kidding aside...it's done wonders for so many of us who are dedicated...it's the very best way of eating that I have ever followed in all of my 68 years of searching & trying different eating plans. |

The BTD is a magnificently anti-inflammatory diet at its core. The thinner face phenomenon is due to that effect. |

I am wondering if this is because of the wheat and dairy or simply because they are bad foods for type O. I am type A and my face is round so I can use any help possible to help me narrow my face. |

But of course! The cosmetics industry has no idea how much in danger it is from people actually taking good care of their minds, bodies, and spirits!! BTD is better than Oil of Olay! |

You are correct on the Wheat... my face really has gotten less puffy... my gage is now my fingers... if my rings are tight I can usually tell I haven eaten too much wheat...
I really don't eat that much dairy products but have a hard time with the cheese……. over the last week I have been eating my neutral cheese for O's mozzarella and feta. (Mozzarella balls in canola oil and basil) for snacks and feta in my salads… eating compliant has helped with the mucus… I don’t have that problem with cocking up any oysters lately…. Yea!!
If you are an O and you have another way of eating these cheeses then let me know… |
