As I was reading LR4YT this morning it said on pg 62 " If you try yo lose weight by restricitng calories, you'll lose muscle tissue, even when you also exercise regularly. I went on the AB Diet and GAINED 7 pounds in a week and a half! I stuck to my race suggestion, and adhered to the diet to a T. 100% eating only beneficials.I also found out that I was getting sick to my stomach drinking Grapefruit juice straight. I also went into anaphylactic shock when I ate peanuts in a peanut butter plant where I volunteered. Peanut butter however does not bother me. When I started to drink the Morning drink, lemon water, I had a battle with excess mucus, something I never had a problem with before. Then after eating a whole Kiwi, peel and all, my tongue started to burn and swell up. (Should I have removed the peel first?) Then I had a slew of Labtests because I had been in an accident. It showed my thyroid was low, not underactive. It was point two three from being underactive. After getting off the AB profile diet, and cutting back on the suggested ancestral amounts, but not eating too much of the "Avoid" foods, I started losing again. I lost from 232 back down to 226 in about 10 days. Could somebody please let me know what is going on. ALso, how many calories should I consume as to not be counted to restricting them? I am 52 post menopausal, big bone structure and weigh 226 and I am 5 foot 9 inches tall. Any help would be highly appreciated

cut back on carbs and concentrate on compliant protein and veggies. kiwis should be eaten without the skin!!
the excess mucus drinking lemon water is a good sign of your body detoxing all the junk from the past. find a way to get your secretor status and subtype checked, to fine tune your dietary choices.

It is not only what you eat and how much you eat, but also when you eat that effects weight loss/gain.
Also remember we are all individuals. For instance, if your metabolism is slow because of thyroid problems or past lectin consumption, then you will not be able to eat as much without gaining weight until those problems are corrected.

ahem...my poorest AL...I think here we are a bit similar..huh....menopsy's kiss is guaranted for both of us ....and I think thatswhy you took some more grams as well ..... the other thing is...yep Lola is right and I'd go for the secretor test as quick as possible....helped me tremendiously to change my diet.......would go for a larger kelpintake & aminoacids like l'tyrosine and perhaps think even of the intake, after having spoken with your doc...... of DHEA...... that seems a real fatburner..... ..........and dear AL...we won't loose any grams on a higher animalprotein diet.......because we get further sluggish and with lower bloodsugars than the O's ......so better some carbs. then no carbs @ all .......all the best for you .....
I tried to post in the Supplement and Prescription Forum but was unable to. But I have some problems dealing with missing herbs that I cannot find. That's why I put this in here and the Supp R4YT
I take several combinations from Nature's Sunshine Products. The TS-II formula has Kelp leaves and stems Irish Moss Plant Parsley leaves Hops flower Capsicum fruit
The Thyroid Support has Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxal 5-phosphate) Zinc Copper Manganese L-Tyrosine Kelp plant Thyroid substance Stinging nettle Protease blend Pituitary Substance Hypothalmus substance
then I am taking Chickweed capsules for fat digestion and appetite suppressant
Twice a year during the changing of the seasons in Spring and Fall I take an Enviro Detox regimen, it has a lot of things in it ( I know Fenugreek is an Avoid, but would the other things in the blend balance it?) try the general search button for each of the herbs you are not sure of here s my first try using the search word Irish moss and this is what I came up with http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/depictor5.pl?486
keep on doing your search, it is easy and you will certainly find loads of stuff mentioning each supplement.
then you can decide if it is right for your individuality.

I always find people feel worse before they feel better on the diet (all the better food you're eating is doing a "Control Alt Delete" on your system...you may have started off too fast and should have incorporated the changes a lot slower...try just taking the big avoids out of your AB (chicken, red meat, corn, banana's, coffee, cows' milk) diet and incorporating a few beneficials from fish, vegetables and fruit categories and slowly incorprating more of the diet over time
Stinging nettle in the thyroid formula is an avoid for AB's by the way

Dr D -Those of us who are familiar with polyamines and their role in cancer may already know that green tea polyphenols also block the enzyme ornithine decarboxylase, which initiates the manufacture of cancer feeding polyamines.
walnuts help to lower polyamines levels, as do blue-toned fruits such as blueberries and blackberries.
