I used the SWAMI program today. I just wanted to start this thread to share thoughts on this. Chicken is a super benny for me right now. Also, at a glance, it seems that fewer foods are avoids than compared to LR4YT. Ah, it's late now and I haven't given it a thorough looking over, but I've been pretty eager to try this out and I finally did tonight. Anyway, I'll post more after I read through it better.
Well, I'm still up, but it's a forty page printout that I have next to me and I mostly looked at the food values so far. What also sticks out is that in parenthesis next to a lot of the foods are explanations as to why the foods are super beneficial or whatever their rating is.
But to answer your question. SWAMI is a more individualized version of LR4YT. It not only takes into account blood type and secretor status, but also: the length and width of your head, measurements of your fingers, taster status (determine whether you are a super taster, taster or non-taster), fingerprint types, waist-hip ratio, the angle of your jaw (gonial angle) and quite a bit more. So you take all these measurements and register them in the proper fields and violla! You get this printout that's specific to you.

I'm going back to Phoenix in two weeks to get my Lewis and MN tests done as well as meet with Dr. Mitteman. I think then I'll have as many inputs as possible for my SWAMI session.
I did mine and played around with the 'therapeutic bias' and if I picked 'detoxification' it really limits the amount of grains..considering I'm an O, I can see why...it also made butter, goat cheese and Ghee Beneficials and it took many neutral beans and made them avoids. It also took Sunflower oil and sesame see/butter/oil and made it a super beneficial

interesting Mike about the goat cheese for your secretor type and detox route. the grain and legume part doesn t come as a surprise......

the detox bias is geared for metabolic improvement which I have no problem with...otherwise there were some surprises like cucumbers, Greek olives and cabbage(love cabbage rolls) becoming super beneficial for me...I have way more beneficial to choose from with my Swami results then I did before on the Live right Diet...If ever I want to do a gentle detox I will nix the grains for a few weeks

takes into account fingerprints, leg length, waist to hip ratios, body types like mesomorph, cranial size, whether you're a super taster or not, family history of illnesses, cholesterol, homocysteine, creatine and iron levels, white blood cell count, MN type, A1 A2 type, health history, etc ...can also set the diet to do detoxification, anti aging, and immunity enhancement
Sorry to put a damper on Mike's new friendship with kiwis, but there was a tiny bug (one line of code in over 9,000) in the SWAMI program that gave certain people with particular waist hip ratios high-lignan foods regardless of their blood type. It has been fixed.

I don't get it, what is this about Mike's new friendship with Kiwis?
I am a Kiwi, what has that got to do with SWAMI?
Can't find any reference in any of the above! Confused, John.

Mike was mentioning to us, how certain food values changed according to his swami results....he will have to re run it, to be on the safe side, that is all.

swami was designed by Dr D to give practitioners a chance to print out, detailed and personalized diets tailored to their patients needs.
for those assisting the conference, we got a free one time go at the swami program, entering all of our data, and a personalized code number, given to those who purchased the measurement and fingerprint pack available to us there.
access to swami has a monthly fee of 250 us, or a single use 10 pack of 199.50.......

how often can you run your program? I thought it was a one time only possibility.
I will run mine as soon as I can get as many test results as possible. and a few measurements I haven t done yet.
Mike, can you post your new results pls? using the detox bias and your data.........what does the swami program advise?

I have run the software with an anti-aging bias. Some of the results are surprising. here's a summary of major changes as per the "Aging" book and typebase in general:
- Rabbit, chicken, duck, turkey and goose are super beneficial
- Anchovy, bluesfish, lobster, sardine, all trouts super bene clam, sole, gray sole, mackerel, salmon, tuna bene
- dairy infrequent neutrals in Aging book are now neutrals
- Soy and chick pea super bene
- sesame and tahini are back and super bene almonds super bene too
- rye flour and 100% rye bread is super bene, big surprise for this O!
- My green/greek olives are back! Super bene , asparagus and pea super bene too
- Apricots(!), peaches, pears, watermelon super bene, apple, cranberry, grape, grapefruit, lemon, lime, quince, raspberry and strawberries bene!
- And , there goes my peppercorns
- surprise surprise; red wine super bene..
So far so good, huh? But, what follows is so big a surprise that it makes me think if there is another bug in the software. I hope Peter has a glance:
Neutral beverages: Beer (with a warning: high gluten or prolamine food), coffee (harmful lectin for O), distilled liquor, commercial diet soda , black tea, white wine..
Dear Doc, tell me if these are correct, preferably before I indulge in heavy boozing
Cheers, Yaman

commercial diet soda's ( that means diet coke, diet pepsi etc. right?) My understanding is that the nutrasweet and aspartame causes damage to the brain (that causes short term memory lost (since I quit drinking, my memory has increased amazingly) and also read that it (soda) turns to menthol alcohol and than to embalming fluid and affects the liver. Is this all a lie? Or are we taking our chances drinking it? Dr. D are you just saying it doesn't affect the lectins so is neutral? any responses would be appreciated. Is this only true if trying to stay young?lol
I had the same type of situation for beverages. I know that Beer, Coffee, Liquor, Commercial Soda, etc. are avoids. What it looks like is that since there are no neutrals in the list that the avoids get placed under the "Neutral" heading instead of the "Avoid." On my paper copy there's nothing to indicate that these avoids are just shifted over, but looking at it on screen I can see that there different shades of gray for bennies, neutrals and avoids. In this case the avoids are under the "Neutral" heading, but they still have the darkest gray background, the background of all other avoids listed.
Though I didn't notice that colour difference, that was my guess too.
However I'd like to be sure for red wine is listed as super beneficial. Could it be that all the neutrals/avoids were shifted or was it only the avoids, that I would like to know.
Also there is the water with lemon issue. If it were a slip of the avoids, then why could that water with lemon be an avoid when lemon is beneficial
It looks like a total mix-up there, very likely a bug, as:
- commercial beer and white wine give me a terrible headache - black tea and coffee spike my BP - diet or not, all sodas give me stomach unrest - I cannot tolerate any liquor other than grape based (ouzo etc), or tequila, now and then in small quantities..
cheers, Yaman

...you've to come for a check.... dearle....you'll gona be yes here I agree, I need a bit more time, but might get a deeper insight also in their psyche patterns ..... not that bad either ......
hmmm must be honest.... I see every day how people react on new things, they just often doesn't want tho know, not even about food changements, really I do have had a very hard time to get em interested for education in that way and if I go for questioning of family histories, they shake their shoulders and mostly don't know, or don't want to get to know ...so for example today, I've got a new B client, I think she's a secretor, but does have some problems with her white bloodcells; her doc just mentioned to her....that she wasn't in need to get to know about those happenings; I merely saw that she 's ready for cancer developement, so I told her to change immediately her doc, those manners are just inacceptable for me and I know, that mostly of the Zürich MD's don't like me and my work .... and also to get her acceptance why she should stop eating chicken yech for those simple minds, it is not easy to understand....sorry it wasn't meant to offend anybody with this
bugs are solved & re-solved by Vegamachines ...of any type and kind .....

that's why I am persuated that my way to run is BTD & BIT .....

Now the beverage list is fixed, lemon water neutral, rest is to be avoided. Beneficials are green tea, seltzer, kukicha, rooibos and red wine..
Having read the "Aging" from the Health Series, I now realize how important the epigenetics can be. Rye, for one, was an infrequent neutral there, whereas here it is a super beneficial. Likewise tahini, green olives, strawberries, quince.. The interesting thing is, I was having a hard time to reduce these down to once a month, for they all made me feel good when I ate them. Now I see why
Cheers, Yaman

I have yet another issue to be clarified/corrected.
Dear Peter,
In the text part it is said (without bias):
"Tomatoes—which contain an especially potent lectin capable of agglutinating A, B, and O blood types, and are therefore called a panhemmaglutinin—should also be avoided. Tomato lectin has also been shown to lower the concentration of mucin in the gut, to bind to nerve tissue, and to bind to, thus locking open, a cellular mechanism that induces stomach acid production."
It is clearly stated that as an O type, I should better avoid tomatoes. However, in the food list followed, tomato and tomato juice is classified as a superbeneficial, with a note that tomato contained a Type O superbeneficial lectin
Now, which is to be relied on, the text or the food list?
Cheers, Yaman

Realize that the SWAMI results that Yaman posts are the result of running the SWAMI using program using a wide range of individualized information, such as his ethnicity, age, sex, height, weight, activity level, serotype data, health history, family health history, any gender specific problems, Lab data, Auxology and Anthropometry measurements, Dermatoglyphics, and his choice of Therapeutic Bias.
Therefore, the results are individualized and may not be apply to someone else just based on the same blood type and secretor status.

There is a bit of a disconnect that occurs when you work on one part of a computer program before you start on another. The category descriptions are "hard' which means that once you fit the basic criteria, it prints that paragraph. Most of the paragraph material is from ER4YT. The food values on the other hand, are 'dynamic' which means that they change, as Don says, in a much more flexible manner. In earlier versions of the program the category descriptions were always right in step with the food values since the program kept very close to the BTD values. However as more and more criteria gets woven in, (such as the 'carbohydrate residue values' and 'bacteria overgrowth' values when you are running in 'Detox' bias, or the 'lignan' values if you are using the 'anthropometric data', or the 'gluten/prolamine' values if you are using the 'white line' switch) these BTD category descriptions are not always in step with the outcomes of the food selection process.
This is of course, very easy to fix. I just need to change the text of the paragraphs that generate in response to the blood type data, and I've begun doing that for B and AB.
However, it is boring work and I got sidetracked this morning doing something more interesting. If you rerun the program, look at the last page and you will see that SWAMI now prints a 'shopping list/ crib sheet' much like the NAP wallet cards, but more specific to the person.
Now that that's done I'll get back to work changing the category verbiage.

MoDon- So my question is completely out of place here, because this is totally about individuality per swami, if I'm understanding this correctly.
I'm starting to get worried, that it is getting to complicated to understand, unless a person has the intellect of a doctor and scientist. It's real scarey right now, for me, Like I wonder If I buy that new book will I understand it?
Anyways thanks for responding to my post, your always so helpful.

geminisue,
I'm not Modon, but:
SWAMI is a piece of software for practitioners who want to do more flexible diet counseling. It is not The Genotype Diet. If anything the GTD may disappoint folks who are expecting a whole big technical tome. It is a very chatty and simple read. Perhaps in another book I will get to the nuts and bolts of the whole thing, but you may be very surprised just how clear and simple the GTD book is.
A whole system is a living system is a learning system.’ -Stewart Brand
I've just read this entire thread and now that I have done the secretor test am looking to take the process further.
Can anybody tell me how I would find a practitioner to perform the SWAMI tests in my area..New York City? Also, when/where the GTD book will be available?
Pinpointing health/wellness to the Nth degree is so facinating!
Thanks. -Amy H
