I just ordered my secretor test! I should get it either Tuesday or Wednesday as it is coming by priority mail. If feels kinda, I don't know, empowering in a sense. Anyhow |

More questions I thought about... Is the package of saliva we're sending very time sensitive? How many hours between spitting and the arrival to the lab is acceptable?
And can we take it to be mailed from a location, such as Kinko's for example, to be mailed off? Or does it have to be directly to the local main headquarters of the courier? What company is usually used to the shipping? UPS? Fedex? etc....
I live in Cali-forn-ya, and I just dropped it in the mail. |

So it would be OK to just drop it in the mail? Is it time sensitive though? Maybe the test was being delivered very close to you in California though, KimonoKat.
Well, I ordered mine today, I'll find out soon enough. I didn't order it priority delivery though, just regular UPS. |

Orange (the pretty woodsy farm-y area near Milford). Still homesick for CT after all these years....Was just in Hartford for a gems & jewelers trade show. You're right near The Master's clinic in Wilton. Sorry about the delay in reply - they're trying to work us to death at work. |

Okay, just did my test. It said at least 3 ml of pure saliva and I got about 3.5 ml, plus some foam, but I didn't count the foam. It's nighttime now, so I am going to refrigerate it over night and then mail it in the morning. YAY! I just hope I did everything correctly... |

I just mailed my Monday! Question - does it truly take 3 weeks to get the results?? Also, i marked the sample as the 4/1/07, but truly did not take it until the 2nd (and shipped the 2nd), do you think that will be a problem? Such as, they receive the sample and think it is too old to test?
I am quite excited however! |

DB...it all depends on how many secretor tests they have. The minimal amount is 10 before they will do them. Debra |

Well, it's on it's way to North Carolina! I'll keep everyone posted!
Hi everyone! Yippie! I finally got my results and ....... drum roll please ..... I'm a secretor !!! I was hoping I was ... really didn't want to make 25+ changes! I am SO happy - my husband thought I was nuts when I opened the envelope today! I sort of thought I was perhaps a secretor given the reaction I had to banana a week or so ago, but at least I now have confirmation and can move on .... YAY! |

Hey, veggiegirl or accidental chef, I sent my secretor test in on March 27th, I keep checking online but it says that I am not in the data base yet. Did you get this response at first too? I am trying not to be impatient but... Sometimes when I enter my name and birth date and the code number, then hit submit, it transfers me to Genova Diagnostics or something like that. I don't know if that is where I find out my status or not. Any adivce? Welcome Dressage Buff, I too am a horse lover, just for pleasure now, but someday, I hope to get into Endurance riding. Four years ago I thought my riding days were over because I had such bad hip pain when I rode, and I was only 42! Since the BTD, no hip pain, and I can move big heavy wheelbarrows of manure with ease! The BTD is the way to go for an active equestrian! |

Hi Dawgmama, I got mine thru snail mail and it did take a while. (seemed like forever!) I've heard the online results are quicker, but depending on how many they received at one time perhaps that could be the hold up. The insert that came with my test said to allow 10-14 days for results. |

Hello everybody. I have sent my test on Apr 3. I am very excited too, I can't believe why I waited that long.. If I am secretor, I can drink coffee which I missed a lot, if I am non I can eat tomatoes which I also love too and not eating both of them since I started btd. I don't know which case I would say OOOOH NO! |

I have been following the BTD for several months and now I would like to know my secretor type. How do I go about having this test done? Is there a place on this site to sign up for this test? |

You can purchase the test yourself from NAP. It does not require a Dr.'s perscription. Here's what happens. You purchase the test kit, and it's mailed to you. You fill out all the information on the form, and collect spit in the vial. You mail the package back to the Labratory. In a week or more, you can find out your results online. It's that simple. Here is where you can order the test kit. |

In my post above to you, the blue text where it says "Here is where you can order the test kit." is the link to purchase the secretor test. I just wrote about what takes place when you order it. |

Elissa, when you posted your initial question on the ER4YT forum about the secretor test, I merged that post with an already existing thread about the secretor test on "this" forum, Live Right 4 Your Type.
Live Right 4 Your Type is the book where secretor status and it's importance is discussed.
Moderators are responsible for moving threads/posts to the proper forum.
Hope that helps answer your question. |
