You A's out there that are waiting to find out your secretor status, just remember that A's have the most differences in food choices between sectretors and nonnies. And what ever your secretor status turns out to be, both have pros and cons but you will feel better and perhaps it will explain a lot of things about yourself, it sure did for me. |

Welcome to the BTD Forums. If you click the Member Center button at the top of this page, then click Avatar Settings on the left side of the new page you will be taken to a page where you can select a blood type avatar. Having a blood type avatar is an easy way to share your blood type with other forum readers so that they can respond to you in a blood type appropriate way. You can add information below your avatar setting, such as Rh+/-, A1 or A2, MN blood typing information or whatever else you want to, by going to the Profile Information section in the Member Center and typing in the Personal Message box. You can also create a Signature of any other information you want to share that will go at the bottom of every message you post. I also encourage you to indicate your gender, age, and location in the world in the Member Center Personal Information section, Signature, or Personal Message box once again so that other members will be able to better respond to you. You can start with the Secretor info and links in the Tutorial, although you should probably read the whole tutorial. |

Yes, my little guys are A's and that's one of the reasons I forked over the money for all three of us. (I only earned $300 last year, so $150 worth of tests is a REALLY big deal for me!) I'm hoping we'll be able to figure out my husband's status from the kids. I was able to figure out his bloodtype from the kids and from knowing both his parents bloodtypes as well. Am I right that one of your parents must have the same secretor status as you? So if I'm a nonnie and one of our children is a secretor, then my husband would have to be a secretor, too? Robin |

No

Yes However, the reverse case (your a secretor and a child a non-secretor) would not determine the secretor status of the father. The father could be be either secretor or non-secretor. |

Sorry for my ignorance but I'm still learning too! How do you find your Rh status? I'm an A+ so is my Rh a + as well? |

Yes, I think you got that right. Let me explain it another way. "Rh" is short for Rhesus which is a sub variant blood type. It is designated after your blood type as either "+" or "-"Your Rh status (+ or -), has an impact on some of the portion/frequency recommendations for certain foods. Other subvariants that have an impact on food choices, frequency, etc., are MM and A2. |

Yes, if you are A+ that means your ABO type is A and your Rh type is + (positive). |

Secretor status doesn't really seem important until you suspect that you are a nonnie. Took me 3 years after I started BTD to finally spit and test, and yes I am a nonnie. What made me think so was my many health problems, some of which improved after being on the basic A secretor diet but some others persisted and I went to the next level.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It's nice to hear that you took this lifestyle to the 'next level' by getting tested.
It is a reassuring feeling that one knows exactly what foods they should be eating. There can be alot of gray areas to contend with.
