Not sure if this is where I should post this, but... What do you all think of flu shots? I don't think I've ever had one - but just found out that my health insurance through work covers the cost of them 100%. Just curious what you all think of them and if they are something worth getting or if I just shouldn't bother? |

Yeah - good to know - Zand is carried in our Good Food Store - I'll have to look for some. And is elderberry good for all types? |

The flu sounds scary for us AB's. I have had great result's in the last 3 months that I have been on the diet. My question is should I consider getting the flu shot because I work in a school around children.(GERMS yuck!) I also have had auto-immune thyroid and colitis which have been under better control since the diet. When I do fall ill which is rare, I tend to get serious disease's. Would love your opinion's |

I love Dr. D's Proberry capsules. I take 2/day and if I start to feel sick I take more. Jane |

Well - I wish I could affort the proberry capsuls - but for now I think I'll have to go with the Zand losenges if either of us starts to feel sick. Just glad there are alternatives out there. |

On the web, there is a host of information which shows some of the ingredients that are used and one will see why some people react badly with the flu shot or other vaccines for that matter. Search under "vaccine ingredients" for example, to read some of the ingredients which make up the shot. Here is just one http://www.mercola.com/2000/nov/26/flu_shots.htmEach day, you teach a little me Thank you so much to all of you A-O-B-AB |

I could go with this. The actual 'active ingredients' are harmless and provided to signal the body to prepare anti-bodies in anticipation of encountering certain viruses. Another thing to consider about the effectiveness of these shots is that the targets have to be determined well in advance. Since it takes months to prepare the shots for distribution a decision as to the contents has to be made in the spring of the year whereas the shots come out in the fall. In the meantime viruses can mutate or new threats could appear. The usefulness of the flu shot is somewhat hit and miss. |
