Very suddenly, there appears this bizarre bony bump on the distal joint of my R index finger.  It would appear to be the beginning of a type of node one finds in late osteoarthritis, but POOF it appeared like that.  Maybe an injury I didn't NOTICE?
Anybody relate?

Later, from the Library stacks:  It appears that one can develop such a nodal-appearing lesion from injury or even post-systemic inflammation (And I had a viral gastroenteritis last week to beat all...)

Still: Mystifying.  Isn't the human organism a remarkable thing?

Yes, it is...  I think we are just starting to understand bits of how the whole system functions and some of the various ways it accomplishes it's work.

Yes, I have the same bony bump that appeared just like that. It is from using a mouse too much.

I have one from a time I was roughhousing w/ Rosco and he accidentally 'bit' me. His tooth hit my bone. When it healed, I had this nice little bump too.
