Thanks Victoria, Did you get the results on the Web? Also I am thinking of doing the test Friday since I am off. I have too much to do tommorrow to do the test in the morning. I don't want to get stressed out. I don't see any reason that I couldn't send it out Friday, unless someone else knows something I don't. Thank you, June |

The saliva should arrive as quickly as possible, and if you send it through the post office, it will sit on Sunday, wherever it is. If you send it another way, like FedEx or UPS, you should find out if it will travel over the weekend, or just sit somewhere. That is the only consideration. You want your saliva to still be fresh enough for an accurate test.
And, yes, I got my results online. |

Junevarn, I sent mine by mail from Spain to America, which probably took one week to arrive - the company said that was not a problem, and I received my results on-line.
Like you, my husband is also the same as me....A+ secretor. At least you can both work towards the same aims!! |

Well, the kit came with a DHL envelope. You just call the number and the envelope and they pick it up. Its easy. I sent my secretor test in today. I can't wait to get the results! Have a great day, June |

Thanks everyone, You all are so supportive. Yesterday and today I did food combining and feel much better. For breakfast today I had mund dahl, yellow split peas that I cooked with ghee, onion and a little spinach. It was great. I am going to eat mostly beneficial foods since I have had a lot of health problems. I had a snack of pumpkin seeds that are roasted and have garlic and turmeric on them. I get them at Whole Foods. I will have a stir fry tonight with broccoli, green beans, onion and spinach and will add either turkey or salmon. Have a great day! JUne |

I live in South Africa. It is not possible to have secretor/non-secretor status tested. I did, however, go for an allergy/food intolerance screening and from that info I could determine that I am a non secretor. (I am AB) |

Welcome to the BTD Forums.
If you click the Member Center button at the top of this page, then click Avatar Settings on the left side of the new page you will be taken to a page where you can select a blood type avatar. Having a blood type avatar is an easy way to share your blood type with other forum readers so that they can respond to you in a blood type appropriate way.
You can add information below your avatar setting, such as Rh+/-, A1 or A2, MN blood typing information or whatever else you want to, by going to the Profile Information section in the Member Center and typing in the Personal Message box.
You can also create a Signature of any other information you want to share that will go at the bottom of every message you post.
I also encourage you to indicate your gender, age, and location in the world in the Member Center Personal Information section, Signature, or Personal Message box once again so that other members will be able to better respond to you. |

Hi, all! I have just returned after a long hiatus; recuperating from surgery (to remove cancer), and delighted to be back on! I've been following the BTD to the best of my abilities, and would like to perfect it, though I can't recall whether I tested secretor or nonnie. (My memory has been affected, unfortunately.) I don't even remember my previous screen-name, so I reregistered.... Anyone with metastitic thyroid cancer here? I'm having difficulty with the synthroid regulation, side effects, etc. and would love to communicate with others about it. Thanks all for being there! Looking forward to being back, anytime I go to the library. (No computer in my home). Take care all, and best of health to you! |

Hi Diffy, and welcome back! Considering your recent health challenges, it could be worth the effort and investment to get your secretor status checked again so you can sure. Dr. D has a wonderful book on dealing with cancer through the blood type diet and particular supplements. The diet for non-secretors is different enough that it helps to have the information.
When I had breast cancer 7 years ago, I followed that book 100%, and stuck with it for a couple of years afterward. |

I contacted NAP and they confirmed that I had tested as non-secretor. So back I go on the nonnie plan. |

In The Genotype Diet book, Dr. D mentions that Rh- and Non-secretor status are common in areas of the world where people seem to live forever. Explorers seem to live long and have a tendency to be Non-secretors. However, it seems that Non-secretors seem to suffer more health problems than secretors do (as was mentioned in Live Right 4 Your Type). Is it accurate to say that Non-secretors live longer even though they suffer more health problems? |

We tend to suffer from lower grade health problems that keep us honest but don't outright do us in- as long as we follow the BTD, GTD or Swami, that is.... |
