There's all this news about katrina and wilma... but on the very bottom of page 12 of a recent SF Examiner there's a 2 sentence paragraph to this effect:

79,000 DEAD, AND STILL COUNTING, IN PAKISTAN QUAKE

I think that merits the front page, certainly ahead of Maria Shriver's visit to the Exploratorium or the visit of Mayor Newsom to the Pier whence a deranged schizoid woman had tossed her 3 babes into the water.

79,000, which means, in Pakistan, something like 20,000 B's!!!!!

Can anyone here comprehend the meaning of these numbers?  While O's succumb to cholera and A's/AB's to cancer/cardiovascular disease, and B's to viruses,

EVERYBODY is killed by such "acts of God"... Count my mind BLOWN.

The US media is truly pathetic when it comes to acknowledging the magnitude of world events.

It is totally mind-blowing, unfathomable... I just cannot imagine coping with an event of that scale...

Really it isn´t only US media - danish media aswell! And danish government and population...

Norway gave around 220 mill dk kr and denmark gave 30-45 mill.dk kr- we are about the same population and same economic standard! I feel so ashamed of being danish... we have become a selfcentered and xonophobian society. SAD

if Paris Hilton had been in Pakistan during the quake, there would have definitely been more coverage!! ........pathetic but true!!

We have had quite  a lot of coverage of what's happening in Pakistan - we do have a lot of Asians who will have families over there - very worrying for them - but the other night I did notice the headlines were about the Conservative Leadership Contest followed by the Earthquake.... Hmmm - which one is more important?

I actually avoid watching too much of the news as they tend to go over and over the same things, endlessly discussing and if possible trying to find blame for whatever it is, and this actually affects me negatively - and seems so pointless. Yet, behind the scenes often there is a lot of good that happens that is just not covered by the main news. This I find depressing. How can we hope for people to grow up with a positive view of the world around them if all they are exposed to is the negativity and the "bad" things?

I agree - We used to watch the news while we were eating dinner- but I have stopped- because it was so blody depressing- somehow I didn´t want my daughter to belive that all things that happends are negative/ terrible events.
We still watch the news together at other times- because I believe very strongly in telling kids about the world- including the bad sides... but at dinnertime- nope.

Yesterday, the 2000th American soldier was killed in Iraq.  As horrific as this is, there is much less mention of what is speculated to be 30,000 Iraqis killed during this senseless war. (Please excuse my political leanings.)

I picked up a book at a sale the other day, on Central Asia (Uzbek/Khazak region): Very jazzed about it, not ready to start it right away, but I'm looking forward to reading it ... side by side with a book about those RUGS!!! The rugs of the nomads from the B regions are very attractive, and less expensive than those of villagers and workshops...Made by B ancestors/relatives, no doubt!

Haven´t heard from you a while!

Well guys I am 2 weeks into my 4 week teachers practice :
I am at a pretty large school teaching 8 years old - they are so funny and sweet
This week I really had to use all my B´nes. We were working together with children from grade 1-9  mixed! in a theme about children in other countries.
I was part of the South American team.
It really demanded a lot of imagination, octoupus behavior and I LOVED IT - it was so fun...
Lots of the old teachers really couldn´t stand it- not being safe in the classroom with their own kids- but I liked the networking- the stories- the chaos .. BUT when I came home I really needed to be left alone!
I have 2 weeks left- It will be more tradional teaching- I´ll be teaching the 8 yo danish - will do a theme about the old nordic gods. I think it ´ll be fun

It's been a month so I thought I would bump this back to the top. Well Thanksgiving is nearly hear all of the relatives will be getting togather, 2/3's Bs with scattered puzzled Os. At least 2 people will bring cheesecakes and I will be putting cream in the pumpkin pie made with veggies glycerine I'll be making, after I tweak it I'll post it. Made with fresh grated pumpkin. Then we'll watch the college football team from the school most of us attended get used, bruised, and abused. The dogs will outdo their usually best at the "I'm starving, may I please have some more?" A distant relative from a nearby mil;itary base will be there for the first time. Could we have a lone A? More latter from "As the Spit Turns"

doncha know there's a B and Individuality II now?  I like having the whole thing on one thread too, but the techies said "takes too long", so we're supposed to use that second thread.
B & Individuality, by any name, is a really special place to be.

Well you know how we INTJ Type B's are about doing it our way, but to answer your question I was out of town for close to a week. Continuing education seminar at a casino in Tunica MS. Decent buffet though so I was able to stay in reasonable complience with the exception of exercize.
