Lola,
thanks for those...I have actually read and seen them before.
I realize type A's are more prone to cancer...but we have the most flavorful food!
We have the best forms of exercise! We have good metabolism! We enjoy and benefit from nature and spirituality! Aside from not getting to eat wonderful European breads, I think type A is pretty darn good! (Yes, I have become one with my blood type... )

I am a B and it's so nice, I have to say.

I went off salt, dairy and fruit for a week and a half, just to see what would happen (a trainer recommended it). What a train reck for me - I had NO energy for my work outs, got extremely constipated and broke out with acne! YUCK! As soon as I went back to my BT diet (sans salt and less fruit than before), I dropped two pounds. AND I started feeling better in my work outs.

I like being A+.  I came to appreciate my blood type since almost all chimpanzees and bonobos have this blood type...i know it isn't human A, but they are 98. something percent genetically the same as humans!  They also hold diets with only about 5 percent meat, with the rest being vegatarian.  The rest of chimpanzees are O.  I watched some you tube videos of chimps and bonobos and felt proud  I really have come to think that the O gene became much more pronounced as humans evolved and began to eat much more meat from hunting as they came down from the trees.

B nonnies can have tomatoes, which secretors can't. I suspect DS is a secretor because of how horribly he acts when he eats tomatoes.

B secretors can have white wheat flour, which B nonnies can't. But both can have spelt, and many B secretors find they can't tolerate wheat anyway, even though it's supposively neutral.

I read in a book called Among the Great Apes that human beings can in fact recieve one blood transfusion from a chimpanzee with no problems, but no more than one w/o antibodies developing.  This cannot be done with organs or gorillas.

EasyE,

When did you discover you were subtype A2? Where did you get your blood tested?
I am still trying to find out my subtype!

From hospital records...i needed blood after breaking my femur and pelvis, and was in shock from blood loss.  Received O- blood units at the ER immediately, then units of A2+ blood were given with surgeries.

Important to remember when "choosing a bloodtype" is:
You're not only adopting new dietary parameters; you're also taking on whatever energy-type / "personality" / temperament goes with it.

There are things I really like about the O diet, for instance.
But I wouldn't do well with it unless I had the O drive and energy-level that go with it; I like the B - what shall we call it - mindset too much.

I think this goes to show that blood type (or genotype, if that's your thang) is very deeply rooted, and that we are complex creatures, wherein organic connections exist between systems...

If I could choose, just for the food, it would be type A. I loved being a vegetarian. But I'm not in love with their risks for cancer and diabetes, etc.

So I chose O secretor, which is what I am...

I go years without so much as a thought of peanut butter.
Then I have a taste of it and I say, God is really cool, for thinking up this flavor! So, for a day or so, I'll be into peanuts/peanut butter...until I forget again.

I choose the Blood type that I already Am because it's rare no one wants to be AB. I hate the foods that I have to give up but it's okay if I can start feeling healthier. I can't eat anything right now without getting sick.. I've given up all soda's started drinking herbal tea's and more Water. Haven't completely stopped all my Avoids for my blood type yet but am doing it slowly.
