I'd switch to B for the dairy products or AB for the mystical, artistic woo-woo thing. |

I choose B secretor. I love cheese which B's can have, but nonnies have to eliminate a few. Also B sec can have semolina, unbleached wheat and white flour. I am suppose to give up potatoes too now that I know I'm a nonnie. At least I can drink alcohol, but I haven't figured out yet what I'll mix with my rum. I was a rum and Pepsi girl. |

I'd stay an A sec (and change my A-non children to A-sec) because it's easier to go out to eat without dealing with hidden corn. I like the sweetner options open for secretors too.
My husband would choose B so he could have meat and potatoes with cheese melted over everything. I'm not sure how he'd handle the sec/non trade off of tomatoes vs sugar. |

I definitely wouldn't choose to be an O. I have grown to like meat, but I don't like it nearly as much as I like seafood. Plus, I really enjoy rice and the taste of dairy. The only thing I really love about the O diet is eating lots of green veggies. |

Dark rum and pineapple juice is delish. Of course, it's off limits for me. |

I chose O type because I have finally found a place I can be satisfied(to an extent)! I never knew why I ran for the bathroom after eating pork but have learned so much in the books about why.I don't know if I am a secretor or non. When I try to buy a kit it keeps coming back not available in NY yet.Makes me want to move to Joisey just to see what i am!! |

Hi Drose, Isn't it wonderful to find key that actually works to unlock some of the mysteries in our health? I just noticed on another thread that Missy has offered to help you get your secretor status tested. Let us know when you find out!! |

I would stay an A sec. I'm assuming I'm a sec. as tomatoes make me swell up like a balloon and corn does not bother me. I like my food choices and had been fazing out red meat without even noticing it long before the BTD. It all seems to fit. I enjoy this board too, really helps keep me on track. |

Althought I enjoy eating as an A, I wouldn't mind being a B as they get to eat a little of everything in moderation. I do miss certain foods but I'll get over it! Lucky little Bees... |

Yup, B stands for Best Bloodtype, indubitably.
An O pal on the Forum was telling me she feels sorry for us poor B's who must find it so hard to order, given that we can't eat CHICKEN.
Never a problem. There's always some Beef, or Turkey or lamb, or fish... Even, in a pinch (as I experienced at a Burmese restaurant, where the only other protein choices were Chicken and Shellfish), Pork will do, over Chicken, as Chicken is an Avoid on BOTH TIERS, for B secretors, while Pork is permitted for us TIER ONE followers...
I do have to say that the prepared food case at Whole Foods is awfully chicken-heavy: Chinese Chicken salad, curried chicken salad, chicken pasta salad, chili-rubbed chicken breasts, lemon-herb chicken breasts...etc! RIDICULOUSLY chicken-centered. The turkey offering is a roasted herbed breast that is usually dried out from sitting uncovered in that refrigerated case...
But there's also salmon...and occasionally a roast leg of lamb, or loin of pork, or (at Eastertime) ham...
Yesterday I was very hungry and threw together a meal at the Mexican bar, which is pretty incredible, considering the corn/tomato/avocado (all NoNo's) orientation of the cuisine. I put some "carne asada" in the container, at the bottom (shredded beef with no tomatoes), put a bit of shredded jack cheese on it, spooned some fresh minced jalapenos and some cilantro and some chopped purple onion on top of that... and then, at home, I dumped it on a big plate with "Asian Slaw", a red pepper and cabbage based salad containing (an AVOID) some sesame seeds, however.
We can always find something...
Take a look at the HOT case, the next time you're there. Tomato-City. Still, I wouldn't want tomatoes if it meant giving up B's Plusses!!! Creammmmmmmmm..... |

I can see the case for B sec. I have no complaints as an O sec. If I were A or AB I might like that the best, there's no desire to eat that way for me at all. The chicken factor is not a big thing but it's very convenient for eating out! Cheese would be nice. Wouldn't mind more legumes except then I'd want corn! So O is good. The Rh- is nice too, cause I get more meat and can skip the grains! Being able to use tomato here and there is good too. |

I don't mind being an A non-secretor as far as the diet but in day to day life I don't see many exciting or positive benifits. Being a type A is a lot of work just to feel normal everyday. I had 4 colds and 1 flu this past winter! I just don't understand it. My cousin is a type O and doesnt even care. He eats whatever he wants(dairy/wheat), drinks beer everyday and juices every now and then. I've never liked dairy too much but wheat is great!
Sorry for the rant. You are the only people that could possibly understand. |

wait until your cousin gets older..........he ll eventually ask you for BTD advice. )
meanwhile, embrace your very unique individuality, and do what makes you feel 'right'.
you might also be an A2, besides being a nonnie.

I picked my own type based on the exercise stuff alone. What a relief to know that I can stop struggling with heavy duty workouts and do what makes me feel good...and know it is enough! I chose secretor cuz it just seems easier ! |

shells, you will have a hard time detoxing and getting rid of the avoids, but it will all be worth it! |

Shells, I went through a similar thought thread a few days ago. "I'm quitting the BTD. It's too much trouble. I want to be able to spend 1/2 an hour in the kitchen instead of 1 1/2 hours. This stinks." But then it passed after I ate. Eat the wrong foods for a couple of days and you'll be convinced that it's worth the trouble. I've been a lot more content being an A-nonnie now that I can have tomatoes. That's what was killing me before, not being able to eat pasta at all. Nobody else in the fam will eat tomatoes, but I will spend extra time in the kitchen fixing pasta for myself. I was pretty frustrated eating the A-sec diet for 1 1/2 years. I'm entirely happy now that all the cravings are worked out of my system. |

I picked A secretor. I like being an A because I was already vegetarian before I found out my blood type, so it just worked out. I do miss dairy, basically milk...and ice cream. But I'm slipping Mozzerella cheese and yogurt in sometimes. So, maybe being a B would be fun, too. But I don't think I'd be very happy as an O. |
