Now, if I could just get my flora to respond to the need for whatever it takes to digest these beans that I have battled for the last several years, I would be delighted. I LOVE beans, but they don't care one thing about me!

Imagine how useful this study would be if broken down by blood type. Given how quickly the subjects respond, it could be a relatively easy and inexpensive way to further merit Dr. D's work.

I will make a point of reading this link, as I too have problems with beans these days, possibly due to lack of pancreatic enzymes. Geans can confuse the body as are both proteins and starchy carbs, so I must give them a miss for now.
for lunch today, I made fresh veg juice, a small salad with some cultured veggies, followed by some white basmati rice, stir-fried veggies, a little nutritional yeast. The last time I ate beans, I felt very unwell and tired for hours after, and I know for sure, I don't want undigested foods or wastes/proteins/fibres, in my system, not good at all.

I read somewhere that if we gradually, very slowly, add beans to our diets the body will learn to produce the enzymes we need to digest them. I guess I haven't made enough effort to do this consistently enough to make it work for me. For one thing it is hard for me to just eat a little bit of beans! Then the trouble starts, and I'm through with beans for a while! The weird thing is that I used to be able to eat them with no problem, but that was several years back.

thanks, Spring for your comment. It's interesting.
I notice since re-starting a multi-straing pro-biotic and cultured veggies in the last week, things have improved for me, plus I continue with fresh raw veggie juices which add real natural living enzymes. The animal proteins/fats cause major problems these days. More raw is helping me (fruits too), sprouted beans seem ok, as I think the starches have turned into sugars during sprouting, and sprouts have live enzymes. Mung beans I find so easy to sprout in glass jar. The mucus in stools has decreased and stool is healthier, as am trying to have the raw fats/oils and in whole seeds/nuts. also yoga helps keep organs/glands functioning well. thanks, Dr D for the article on gut flora.
