A fairly long read.

Quite a bit of application to misinformation in nutrition and health for those that are interested, although most of the specific examples are not health/nutrition.

Isn't that article a load of misinformation itself? lol

perfect example of false in formation is .... For example, the myths surrounding vaccinations, which prompted some parents to withhold immunization from their children, have led to a marked increase in vaccine-preventable disease, as well as unnecessary public expenditure on research and public-information campaigns aimed at rectifying the situation.

Exactly, the author of the autism story who claimed the vaccine link..

Quoted Text
Ultimately, it emerged that the first author of the study had failed to disclose a significant conflict of interest; thereafter, most of the coauthors distanced themselves from the study, the journal officially retracted the article, and the first author was eventually found guilty of misconduct and lost his license to practice medicine (Colgrove & Bayer, 2005; Larson, Cooper, Eskola, Katz, & Ratzan, 2011).

Its good to learn information, but i believe people can find their own truths by observing and personal experience.

Hard to find good sources of information on the internet.  I enjoy reading books on different subjects, even authors who have different theories on the same subject, like global warming for example.

With the vaccination thing, vaccines save lives and prevent disease far more than any problems caused by them.  I myself had a severe allergic reaction to a polio vaccine where i swelled up and had to be hospitalized, but i never contracted polio.  Have to weigh the benefits vs. the risks.  No such thing as risk free.

The autism REACH to explain it, is never to be discussed by people who do not have a child with autism.. the pain is too great seeing your child going from normal to silent..

It takes advocacy to make changes, and vaccine advocacy has prompted much safer vaccines and safer guidelines for ALL.. Thank those parents who fought to better the world.. while daily dealing with the greatest tragedy of them all.

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!
