Noticed several news outlets are writing articles about a soon to appear study in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease that found higher caffeine level in the blood of older patients with memory loss seemed to reduce the risk of develop Alzheimer's.

Quoted Text
There may even be a reason to start for people in their late 30s and up, he says. "Aim for an average of three, 8-ounce cups of coffee per day in the morning after eating breakfast."

The Author's think it is the caffeine. If there untested presumption is correct, you would just need to drink enough green tea to get about 300 mg of caffeine each day.

This sounds like a very good idea.

I've noticed that as I advance in my "mature years" I enjoy caffeine so much more.  And it's not as a heavy stimulant like I used to seek when I was younger.  Caffeine from green tea gives such a sense of well being (maybe it's the naturally occurring Theanine) and never the jitters any more like I used to get with caffeine.

If that is so, my mother should have been super protected from Alzheimer's!!!  She used to drink 4-8 cups per day and has had Alzheimer's for about 5 years now.

I'm guessing that the protective effect is from the caffeine and not the coffee itself.  Coffee is probably a flat-out avoid for her.  When I used to drink coffee, it was having a very destructive effect on my gut.

Assuming an 8 ounce cup of green tea contains 15mg of caffeine to 75 mg of caffeine one would need between 1 and 4.7 liters. 3 liters would be right in the middle of the range.

I never needed a SWAMI to know that caffeine is an avoid for me. I would never be able to tell if it would even benefit me or not I would just be too high as a kite from all the caffeine. Not to mention the accelerated heart rate and blood pressure that I get from consuming it. Good thing I hate coffee.

Ahhh . . now we get to the heart of the matter!  lol!  The hidden message is that chocolate consumption doesn't want to take a back seat to the green tea or anything else that isn't chocolate.

I heard about that too.  Is it really just the caffeine that does it?  I guess nobody knows.

Coffee gives me acid reflux these days.  The only kind I like is iced, french vanilla (no dairy or sugar just stevia). I never really drank it that much though. It's more like a treat for me.  Tastes like those coffee cooladas from Dunkin Donuts.

With all ten loops in my finger prints, I have assumed that I am prone to Alzheimers; and coincidently I enjoy coffee (it is good for me too) and hope this will help me in my years to come.

(((hugs))) Sandy. My mom always drank coffee all her life, type A, onset of dementia probably started 4 years ago while I was out of my home State.

I am an A nonnie and after SWAMI-ing, it specifically said NO coffee whatsoever for me with my "Ex-teach-orrior" makeup. Yet neutral COCOA is the staff of life for me!   No upset tummy and no freaky nerves.

Coffee is one among ten factors affecting AD! Its contribution could be marginal.

My grandmother passed away with AD. She was a type A. Coffee and unsweet tea were abundant at my mom's house as a child, so I think it's safe to say my grandmother had lots of caffeine.

As a type A, caffeine absolutely messes with my tummy and nerves, too! I feel much better without it, but I have an undeniable fondness for chocolate!

btw if we remember and watch out how often peeps use those capsules made from
aluminium, so far it's also known the correlation of that  metal and azh... so I'm still asking myselve how mad must we get driven by social roles... instead of
becomeing aware about those interactions ...

Aluminum capsules? Are you refering to those perforated balls on a chain for steeping loose tea?

I also cannot use caffiene. I assume there are other things that are good against AD.
I have heard that too much sugar contributes to it. Are there any stats of how much(general stats, of course)?

complete of mine..are you refering to Nespresso tea's and café capsules  and other firms like Tschibo or whatever.... all of those  are... when combined with hot H2O...

Btw... remember how much you're going to pay for such a capsule.. I counted that 500 grams of café are about 250 Swiss francs then...and normal café bought  openly is about 3.80 SFR.... here also lays one of the *hitting points*...

I meant that I Googled Nespresso.  I think your asking if I'd found any results of drinking from these aluminum things. At least, I think that's what your asking... I googled "abd what's da result?"  and got a Wikipedia entry for "ice cream headache".

So apparently, my translation resources are not that reliable.
