Never heard of or tried paraffin wax as a constipation aid.

Magnesium is good to relieve constipation.  It is part of the Intestinal health protocol for Type B:
Quoted from 18. INTESTINAL HEALTH PROTOCOLS

Use this protocol for 4 weeks.

BLOOD GROUP B

    Deflect B (ABO-specific lectin-blocking formula): 2 capsules, 2-3 times daily between meals
Polyflora B (ABO-specific Probiotic): 2 capsules, twice daily
    Intrinsa: 2 capsules, twice daily
Magnesium: 350 mg, 1 capsule, twice daily
    Rice-derived tocotrienols: 50 mg, 1-2 capsules daily
Elecampane (Inula helenium): 500 mg, 1 capsule, 2-3 times daily with meals
Chlorophyll Liquid: 1 teaspoon, twice daily

Increasing oil in your diet can releive constipation. It's not surprising that any kind of oil, even ones not normally thought of as foods, would have a similar effect.

I think you're better of increasing the "food oils" in your diet rather than ingesting parafin or castor oil or anything else.

When I was a little girl our A family ate mostly all avoids.  Of course, my parents had no idea what they were doing, but the result was that I was constantly constipated.  Their idea of a "cure" was to force me to drink mineral oil (which is also called liquid paraffin) in orange juice.

To this day - 70 years later - I still gag when I think about being forced to swallow that stuff.

Paraffin wax is an entirely different thing from "liquid parafin/mineral oil. My personal opinion is that it could REALLY gunk up your insides.

Please do yourself a favor and use the beneficial oils on your B diet as Ruthie suggests.  ALSO - lots of veggies and dried beans right for your blood type go a long way toward preventing constipation because they contain high amounts of the right kind of fiber.  AND WATER:  Lots and lots of water - minimum 2 quarts per day.

This is a great cleansing aid that I use regularly. It's not just magnesium it's more than that. There is no cramping, but you do need to stay close to the bathroom for a day or two.

Quoted Text
Mag O7 is a specially formulated magnesium based compound which has been ozonated and stabilized to release Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) when used as directed. Mag O7 has a stool softening effect, which eliminates the digestive tract of unwanted debris. Mag 07 aids the digestive process by slowly releasing beneficial ROS which helps friendly bacteria utilize nutrients efficiently

Mag 07 is non-habit forming.

Suggested Use
As a dietary supplement, take up to 5 capsules at bedtime with 8-12 oz of water, on an empty stomach for 7-10 days or until desired cleanse has been attained. Decrease dose for maintenance. Daily dosage will vary depending on individual and intended purpose. Results may vary.

Other Ingredients
Rice flour, citric acid & vegetable capsules.

I was constipated for years on BTD, I tried many things but nothing worked as well after TWO weeks of ingesting a tablespoon of plain extra light Olive oil.  Actually in the first month I took the same twice a day, so you can see how much it took to make me go naturally. -- I think I was of the opinion others where talking about low fat diets.. wrong.  I need the extra oil!  With it I am comfortable and pressure free, and not explosive as with other things.  Magnesium works for on overnight good clean out, but it stopped working after some time and was impossible to predict how or when it would work.

I think for some here, we just may need more oil in our diet, and maybe the secret is to make the correction to eat the oil by itself, not so much in coking with it.  For me, Olive oil is simplest/cheapest, and the best is that it always available even if I am not home, and the plus overall, It is healthy for me...

The other benefit: I use it inbetween meals, and wash it down with water, It works as a snack, and staves off hunger until it's time for the next proper meal, up to 3 hours. Nice.

Use only oils good for you, but increase it in your diet.  I just needed more of it, since I hardly ever used any to cook with - my error for way to many years.. Ruthy is right..

Good luck.

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

I'm not sure about using this wax, even castor oil was awful.
Most people overeat during their lives (I have I know), eat too much after 1pm, eat snacks when not hungry or necessary, eat mostly cooked food which doesn't allow colon walls to stay strong, eat gluten which sticks to side of intestines especially if person has dryness in intestines due to different reasons, so later in life, we encounter problems with natural processes.
Some people use oils or seeds to help.
If one has weak liver and pancreas, oils will be hard as it is not a whole food source.
I think raw juicing is good, some raw salad every day, some whole seeds which have oil in them naturally ie flax, chia, avocado, olives.
Exercise and do yoga. Keep trying to strenghten things up internally.
Don't be afraid or embarressed to use enema, high enemas at home and think about causes rather than just take something which may only work for a short time. Strong organs/intestines, we need always even we get older!

We need plenty of magnesium, for lots of reasons, but in this case, magnesium is a natural stool softener and relaxer of all muscles in the body.

Also chia seeds, along with liquid, will gently bulk the stools and moisten them.

Flax seeds, also.  Again, plenty of liquid is needed with these because they soak up moisture.

I use 3 Tb freshly ground flax and 1 Tb freshly ground chia every day.  No more constipation!

I agree Victoria, flax seeds help me too, with warm cooked in water cereal in morning as the cooked grain is moist and gives nice yang energy to neuro-endocrine system.  Stewed prunes with apple/pear and ground cardamom/cloves/aniseed wonderful flavour after stewed for about 25 / 30 mins. Some soaked almonds, a few pine nuts as high in nutrients. Am taking a little extra magnesium too which I think may be helping. and ensuring all meals are moist, ie daal soup for evening meal with low starch green vegetables (green beans, asparagus, silverbeat/green chard), a little ginger and tumeric with spices/seeds sauteed in ghee. Wake up feeling better these days. I have chia in cupboard so may include this as well at breakfast time, thanks for reminder.

Just remembered something else:

One thing that REALLY works is cooked pumpkin.  If you are a B secretor and following the BTD that is an avoid for you, but if you are a B nonnie you can have pumpkin.

1/2 cup of it will take care of your constipation problems, and you don't need to eat it every day. This does NOT mean pumpkin pie, though - pumpkin, like a veggie.  We often have spicy pumpkin soup and it's delicious.  Very occasionally I just heat the BPA free cans of pumpkin and serve it as a veggie.

I use magnesium citrate daily to keep me regular.  It really works!  I also take a similar Magnesium product as the Mag O7, as referenced above by nowishow, if I get constipated for some reason.  Magnesium Citrate is the one product that helps me stay regular.  Be sure it is Magnesium Citrate.  Do not get a magnesium/calcium mix, either.  Straight Mag Citrate works really well when taken regularly.

Yes, pumpkin good, I agree.  I will keep in mind about magnesium citrate too.  It is also about avoiding foods that weaken gland/organs/cells as per macrobiotic principles.  For people with hypoglycaemia / weakness in neuro-endocrine system, this means fruit, sugar/sweetners, nightshade vegetables, extra fats/oils, and other foods depending on individual of course.  Yes to brown rice, millet, barley (grains freshly cooked in water), vegetables esp swede(rutabaga), leafy greens, parsnip, onions, adzuki beans, chick peas, salted umebushi plums, sea vegetables, ginger root, fresh shallots/spring onions, parsley, lightly roasted pumpkin seeds, warm bancha/kukicha tea and walking/yoga/deep breathing.
