Hello. In following Dr. Lam's advice I found these Indexes he wishes us to avoid,
(anything over 60 is considered "too high")
Carrots > 71-92 raw to cooked
Beets > 64
Parsnips > 97
Watermelon> 74
Pineapple > 66


On the other hand:
Tomato> 38
Peanut M&M's: 38

~~~ and I have yet to find a GI index for Xanthosoma (malanga) but keep reading paragraphs that state it is higher in fiber and minerals than white potato, the fiber lowering its glycemic load on the pancreas. Anybody?

I'm reading all of this because I have reactive hypoglycemia stemming from Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome, plus weight issues. I assume as the adrenals get stronger and the weight drops I could eat all my "high glycemic Diamonds" again

I wonder if you would do well following the Diabetes Book rather than the general BTD. It should be available from the public library. Dr Lam's advice isn't blood type specific.

Also remember that the GI of a meal goes down when you add fat and/or protein to it. You may do just fine with carrots if you eat them with ghee or dip them into bean dip or guacamole (or any other protein or fat source that you can make creamy and dip-able.)

I don't think that peanut me&ms should be part of your diet, even if they are high enough in fat and protein to have a low GI. Dark chocolate with peanut butter would be a much healthier option, or a handful of peanuts with a smaller amount of dried fruit added.

Of course not but I thought it was amusing to note   they have milk and table sugar in them, and Mars' P.B. m and m's taste like nothing but  a handful of grease!!  

Well this would put my lowest glycemic foods at breakfast, when I have no fats, or, I could do like I did today, and eat my one starch serving at breakfast with no fats, and leave my other proteins, veggies and nuts for afternoons before 6PM.

Hey, a FIRST: I was able to eat starch + protein at breakfast with NO BULIMIA!!!

Yes, a good idea to get a diabetic book or even Dr. D's version at this point.
