I am an O/Sec/Hunter and I recently caught Norovirus from my husband. We assumed he had regular old food poisoning but within 30 hours, I had "caught" his food poisoning and none of our other family members became ill who were isolated from him.

Anyway, I had the typical vomiting and low grade fever, diarrhea. But ever since, I have been feeling different "inside." Like more energy, or more "alive." Not sure how to describe it. I have always suspected I had some odd gut bacteria problem since I have a very tough time losing weight, I NEVER feel hunger pangs (not exaggerating) like normal people and have to be extremely careful of overeating and WHAT I eat, lest I gain weight easily and get fatigued, etc.

Now, aside from the couple pounds I lost during the illness, even two weeks later, have dropped two pounds without even trying, get hunger pangs again after 6 years. Have normal bowel movements. Less joint pain and headaches.

My question is, can a brutal "cleansing" from a virus reset your gut bacteria? And how do I keep it like this?

The appendix could have reset your gut-- do you have one( an appendix that is)?
