I started drinking lemon in water again yesterday and I'm doing it again today. I'd forgotten all about that for a while. I'm definitely feeling a lot better today- still tired, but the congestion is "annoying" rather than "choking me."

JJR. I have to agree with you...But, besides just measuring fats and oils from a spoon, we all
get nuts...and many of us get avocados for which portions are very generous...plus a specific amount of fat grams would be found in fish/meats/eggs...Given I eat eggs rarely and would be allowed 7 per week and don't eat much cheese but could have as much as 3oz many times a week, what I do is eat more nut butters and cook with more oil...

I think when calculating everything that complies individual SWAMIS, all fat grams from all foods were computed....and became a particular percentage of our caloric intake.  If your cholesterol profile
has improved then you're doing a good job of eating right....As far as not feeling satiated, the one
food group that I seem to need to adjust is fats....More fat is better for my mood, my skin, my
satiety and my immune system...but in all reality, perhaps I'm not eating more fat than SWAMI recommends, I've merely changed which foods groups I'm getting my fat from.  More plant
fat than animal fat.  I honestly don't feel I was designed to be eating a lot of animal fat anyway.

Makes sense.  I eat more than my allowed nuts.  It's the only way I know how to keep my calories up to where I don't lose weight.  Either that or eat lamb every day.  Which is expensive.

Yay!!!!  I didn't even think to say it.  But yeah, even the book says it cuts mucous down.

Victoria,
That's EXACTLY what happened to me - all these antibiotics for the dental implant surgery.  At one point they even had me take steroids and antibiotics - I fought it but they insisted I needed it.  I had the same tightness under the breastbone and enough mucus to fill a good sized stadium for over a month.  I'm finally feeling better and wouldn't you know I have a dental appointment today - just a cleaning though.  I still have a minor amount of mucus but that may be because I've been eating too much dairy.
The liquid Mucinex helped with the chest congestion and allowed me to sleep.
