Emily has not been herslf recently.
Too many treats and sweets and deserts etc at Christmas has upset her delicate self.
she is now reacting to onions (we think) so are havingto rduce them for a time.
unusually she seems to be suffering from nausea and aching limbs. her breath is not good at night.
haven't given her a breath test recently as she doesn't like the machine, since she remember feeling sick after doing a lactose breath test. poor thing.
She also has had a chesty cough for over a month that is hanging on. even after lots of steaming, proberry, hot lemons et al.
so reducing sugar again, keeping warm etc. and waiting patiently for summer so that we can over dose on sunshine in preparation for next winter. |

We too have sunshine all year round! Just now it is overcast and showery, but that is a very welcome respite from our 45 deg C (113 deg F) days recently.
Regarding Vit D, apparently most Australians are deficient. Absurd when we live in such a sunny country, but the scare campaigns over skin cancer and melanoma have produced a real fear of the sun in this land.
Sending you warm, sunny thoughts, PC! |

I've found that Jack can tolerate more sugar without getting sick if I give him extra cod liver oil on the days he has sugar. He's a B, probably a Nomad, which makes CLO either neutral or beneficial for him. I'm not sure what Emily's SWAMI says about CLO, but if that particular D source isn't a good choice for her, then look for a liquid D in olive oil (or a D in olive oil in capsules if she's willing and able to swallow them.) |

Hope she doesn't have a new mattress. I have been reading the horror stories about just about every one of them on the market. People are doing some serious suffering from the effects of the chemicals in the nasty things, and their cousins the mattress toppers. Where is the "government" when there is something as vile as this going on and has been for years? |

I am beginning to discuss with M, taking capsule, since she is nearly 7 now, mainly for "fish oils" By Dr D. but as yet she hasn't wanted to try. but also to increase Polyfolra and Live cell for her. at the moment it too hit and miss.
CLO is an avoid the following are in her beneficial column on swami. the ones in green are available in our kitchen;)I have also recently started making her walnut milk. which might help a bit. although strangely they are a black dot for her (walnuts) but since she hasn't had them for a long time I figure that's okay. rice milk is a bene, and I make that occasionally but she get a bit crazy when she drinks it. it gives her a headache for example. Almond Oil ◊ Apricot Kernel Oil Black Currant Seed Oil ◊ Chia Seed Oil ◊ Flax Seed, Linseed Oil Hazelnut Nut Oil Hemp Seed Oil ◊ Macadamia Oil Olive Oil ◊ Perilla Seed Oil ◊ Quinoa Oil Rice Bran Oil ◊ Walnut Oil ◊ |

useful site re walnuts http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=99She did have a new mattress a few years ago but we did air it for a long time, and we covered it with an expensive mattress cover. she naturally sleeps on her back most of the time so hopefully this helps. to be fair all the children or most of them anyway look pale. |

I was suggesting the CLO for the vitamin A and D content, not just for the EFAs. IF she shouldn't have CLO, then I'd suggest she get supplemental vitamin D, especially since she's been sick. She may not need supplemental A if she gets plenty of orange vegetables in her diet. |

When I was a little girl, I was afraid of swallowing capsules; so my creative mother suggested that I chew a mouthful of food until it was ready to be swallowed, then slip a capsule into my mouth, work it to the back of my tongue and swallow with the food. It worked so easily, that's how I taught my daughter when she was little. My son was so different - he'd pop several into his mouth and swallow them dry! No problems! |

Policychecker - Funny thing about walnuts. Whenever I eat them, my mouth breaks out in painful canker sores from one side to the other and my tongue gets very sore. I looked it up and discovered that walnuts are a serious allergy for some people. |

I've always taken my vitamins this way. Years ago, when studying about whole foods, proper food combining, it was suggested to not drown one's food with liquid as it would dilute the enzymes necessary for proper digestion. Being an adult, I slip several capsules at a time with my food. I'm quite vigilant about taking my supplements and will do so in a restaurant not caring what others think. One gentleman at a health food store told me that I would add some years to my life not drinking with meals. I've heard many complain about taking vitamins with loads of water on an empty stomach say that it makes them nauseous. |

My family is the same way. My daughter and I could put 5 or more caps in our mouth and wash it down with some liquid. No problem. My wife and son choke on just one. We always had to open my sons up and put them on food or crush them or poke them. Depending on what it was.
My son is highly allergic to walnuts. One time I was eating them and rubbing his back. His back got all bumpy and red. I was like, OH MY. But for me, I LOVE them and do very well with nuts.
I have a suggestion for the bed. We've wanted to do this for my son, and probably still should. But they make mattress covers from wool that you can slip over. We've used other expensive slip overs and I don't know how much they help or not. But the wool thing seems like a good idea, as it's supposed to be antibacterial, antimicrobial. Or whatever.
I'm sorry Emily hasn't been feeling too well. It's hard to see your child go through that. But she has a great Dad that really cares for her. |

PC, Does your daughter get hayfever type allergies? Gluten sensitive/celiac? Does she have a lot of mucus? Yeast balance off? Just wondering as I see you live in Ireland and the damp weather also feeds mucus. Just throwing the thoughts out there, these are things I had from a young age, but was only aware of the hayfever from age 3 and. it is amazing how it can throw they immune off. I was always pale also. Lin |

If the child has other allergies, you may want to check whether he is sensitive to wool before getting any bedding containing wool. |

Did you not do other things like paint her room?
I seem to have read something that way.. or was it someone else?
What blood type is M.. have you tested for nonnie..?
It might also be that she has been so clean that even some small item may react where before she might not have? Once all cleaned up it seems more of a 'reaction' then when one was full of contaminants..
as for sugar, ok she can not have any.. but have you tried Trehalose.. not the complex -just the sugar part- that the body does not see as sugar? Could M be pre -diabetic?
I am still wondering why she is so sensitive- if that is what she is? no one is expected to be 100% so What about the small non compliant things that make us function in the 'normal' world? TOOO clean and we get sick.
Hand washing might be a good thing for a lingering cold, but I am afraid to make it a big deal .. kids and adults learn to over react all to quickly.
What do you use to 'steam' with? A long time ago, I 'steamed' only to realize that the surroundings got 'steamed 'also and mold was soon on issue to where the carpeting had to be removed..
What else is growing with Em? new soaps, new shampoo? new towels?
New independence? how is she acting up? are her friends ill all around her? or the rest of the family? |

Emily, is wheat/gluten intolerant, dairy intolerant, a fructose malabsorber, she does NOT do well with any sugar and is a maniac anywhere near anything artificial or chemicals/perfumes aspartame sends her absolutely nuts (we found it in a kids fruit juice that she likes but she went berserker after drinking it all the time, until we realised what it was, the funny thing was hat we thought she was having a healthy drink while her fiends were having soda lol). apart from that she is a delight she doesn't really have much of a problem with allergies like grass etc, at least nothing obvious. sometimes she breaths heavily but usually that's after diary of some sort. she get a nice colour in the summer though. and thrives in the sun. as I suppose we all do |

M is a blood type O and she is a NOnnie (tested). the steaming did help a lot. we have ozone generators in rooms that are potentially mouldy. as for paint, ducting anything like that it is done when she is not near. as for pre diabetic I have always thought so. we will build her up again in the summer. |

Hi PC,
wonder, if taking some sessions in an infrared sauna would help the aches and chest issues. I know kids should not really do saunas, but I am sure there is a difference between the traditional sauna and an infrared one. I'd also start with short sessions to see how she reacts.
Hope she feels better soon!
PS:is she allowed ghee? Favourite food for O beneficial gut bacteria? Would help with the breath if it is coming from an inbalance in the gut... |
