Hello Everyone,

Unfortunately I have been recently diagnosed with a non-contagious skin disorder called "Shamberg's Disease."  There is no cure and no one knows why it occurs.  I have been searching the web looking for a possible treatment/solution and came across a Vitamin C product called "Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C."  It was developed/discovered by Dr. Thomas Levy who has written a book (I haven't read) called "Curing the Uncurable."

Is anyone familiar with this skin disorder, the Vitamin C product, or know of a successful treatment?  Has Dr. D'Adamo every mentioned it by chance?

Thank you,
Carolyn

Apparently a spanish product 'Skin Cap'  helped people, but on closer investigation I found this:
http://pinch.com/skin/scfaq.html
Sooo...that knocked that on the head...

Found a reference to something called PUVA-therapy. Unfortunately the site is in German, but you might be able to pull out some of the terms/ words and search for them seperately

Looks like you'd need to strengthen your blood vessel walls, I know I've read something somewhere about that....but where

If the discolouration is in your legs, I wonder if gravity is playing a role here as well...logic tells me that if that was the case massages might help.

Definitely, I'd get SWAMI. I am a great believer in that your body constantly tries to heal/ fix itself. So if you can take away all other 'building sites' (no matter how small) in your body, it can concentrate on only the Shamberg.

Keep us posted on the leads you dig up as you are learning more about your condition. Hopefully something will turn up that can be used as a starting point for you to reverse this!

Best wishes!

Since Schamberg's disease is primarily a problem with the capillaries, I would say you'll benefit the most from eating foods that actively reinforce your arteries and circulatory system.

I don't know if there's a protocol specifically for that, but anything with olive oil, garlic, and red/blue fruits such as berries must be a good start.

Also, (as is in the blue/red berries/fruits) the whole vitamin C range ie bioflavanoids - rutin, hespirin & quercitin... for capillary health

hmmmm.. I'd go for higher vit. C intake but combined with SOD, I wouldn't take any cortisone cream ..this doesn't seem to be an inflamatory issue... but merely a leaky vessle-syndrome...so far go also for rutin and biovlavonoides; next: I think against the itchy issue..go for hametum cream or traumeel cream.... traumeel is a homéopathic cream and really works wonders as witch-hazel does .... oops...sorry only my 2 cents...

Oh my goodness!  Thank you everyone for your replies and advice!  I am really uninformed about my secretor statis and this SWAMI you all talk about.  I'm sure that learning more about my own make-up will give me a great deal of insight as you have suggested.  This will take some time to research, but the benefits I'm sure will be very worth while.  You all are so well informed and knowledgeable!  I'm still in kindergarten with the BTD information.  Thank you again everyone for your helpfulness.  I really appreciate you taking the time to help.
