Of recent my wife fell backwards down the stairs and struck her head on the hardwood floors in our foyer. She fractured her skull and as a result had a brain bleed, she also broke her arm, lost some hearing in her left ear, and has lost her sense of smell and consequently her taste. As expected due to the trauma she is also experiencing a some short term memory issues...
She sems to be healing well and remains quite positive however I am asking for prayers and advice as to certain protocols, etc that might speed her recovery. She is an A +, do not know if a secretor or not.
Cheers from Golfzilla!

I am so sorry for your wife. Yes, I will pray for her recovery. I don't really know of any protocols right now. My husband was in a terrible accident years ago, and with the help of doctors, prayer, and time, he recovered.
Golfzilla, So sorry to hear about your wife. How awful. I'm not sure about which protocols but just wanted to send best wishes for a complete recovery. How are you holding up? Jane

Thank you Jane, we are doing fine. There was much adjustment initially however that soon became the norm, I am keeping one foot in front of the other as my Dad use to say

Ouch! I hope she feels better soon.
Taking a look at the list of protocol options, I can see why you're not sure which one to choose. There isn't an "injury support protocol". The nerve health protocol might be appropriate since she seems to have some nerve damage (short term memory loss, loss of taste/smell) but the post-surgury support may also be appropriate since the injury is traumatic in a similar way that surgury is traumatic. Or maybe blood-building if she lost a lot of blood in the injury.
Perhaps take a look at all the potentialy appropriate protocols, and see if they have any supplements in common. If so, those supplements are probably appropriate.
The "protocol" web-page says to use the Encyclopedia for figuring out when to use which protocol. If you have that on hand, you may want to read through it and see if you can get more direction from there.

I am so sorry this has happened to your wife! I hope her recovery continues to progress. It seems that avoiding a stroke is a major issue after such an injury. No doubt at all that the doctors are addressing this one. I'm sure your wife's positive attitude will go a long way in helping her recovery. How long has it been since her fall?

Sorry to hear about your wife's injury. I agree with the Cognitive protocol, and as well the Nerve support and Post Surgery protocols.
Lola's suggestion of adding Trehalose is a good one as it will stimulate cellular cleansing whether from this injury or in general...

RG, Hope you have been well! Great thought relative to the supplements in common. I will look into this tonight. Thanks!

My youngest son just had a concussion and the sports doctors all told him he needed to build Lego, built models do puzzles in order to rebuild the connections in the brain.
He is not allowed to watch TV, computers etc for long periods of time. He is also supposed to keep his blood pressure and heart rate down until the head rushes and lack of balance stops. He is allowed to get on a stationary bike, but if he feels any symptoms he has to quit. Minimum 10-12 weeks for recovery.
Golfzilla, Glad to hear your wife was able to at least get our on the golf course with you. I played for the first time this year yesterday - in the 80s here in Massachusetts - unbelievable. Course was in perfect shape and not even officially open yet.
Jean, Sorry to hear about your son. Hope he's doing better. Was it from a sports injury? Jane

Hi Jane! Hope you played well and enjoyed yourself. Yeah, was great having her out there with me again

Thank you Jane and Golfzilla. He was about 8 hours away from home at Red Mountain racing in a snowboard race. He hit a jump and went "over the handlebars!!!" Head over tea kettle.
He told me he was out for about 4 minutes and when he woke up, he thought he was at home at the bottom of the course. It was lucky he was in small center as he got excellent care from the hospital. They saw some spots on the scans at the base of the skull and did more tests and found no damage there but he did have broken ribs and a good concussion.
One of the side effects of the concussion was a total lack of appetite, he lost 8 lbs on a skinny frame. He said he doesn't know when he is hungry and he feels full most of the time. That feeling is slowly going away and his appetite is returning. He did some light training yesterday and felt pretty good.
