I have 'heel spurs'. According to one website, this can be caused by lack of calcium absorption. I do not have a naturopathic doctor in my area so I'm stuck with traditional medical help. Any advice would be appreciate...if this is the forum for it. |

I had one several years ago, and read somewhere that magnesium supplements would dissolve it, I think it may have been on this site in '97? Anyway, it went away in about two months time. I still take extra magnesium, as I think I am one of those people deficient in that mineral for one reason or another. Good luck. |

I have two spurs. They were pretty obvious on the x-rays. My podiatrist provided heat massage therapy for 6 weeks. The pain went away after a few months. When I wear an old pair of tennis shoes or go barefoot for a day, the pain returns. My latest blood panel and bone density test were perfect. (I take the Basic pack of vitamins, minerals and probiotics from NAP.) |

Took a look at the link and it makes sense that they could be caused from a deficiency of calcium. The calcium will not be assimilated without enough magnesium, so bone spurs can result. There needs to be a good ratio between the two. And I did switch to calcium citrate years ago, as well. Don't know if that made a difference. |
