[face=Times][/face] Can anyone tell me if ringing in the ears (tinnitus) can be controlled or eliminated by using the BTD? Is it due to some type of deficiency in the blood? I have been having tinnitus for over a year and most doctors I have seen told me I would have to live with it. I can't accept that fate. I have been on the BTD for a few months and have had great results - just wondering about the tinnitus and supplements or certain avoid foods. I am a Type A non secretor. |

I get it occasionally, when I eat too much sugar or feel otherwise un-well. I know Larry reports people improving tinnitus when he gets his friends on the BTD...? |

I was told the tinnitus was caused by high frequency hearing loss due to the "fine hairs" in the cochlear being damaged. |

The tinnitus is effected by the amount of anti-oxidants in the inner ear. |

I have had tinnitus in one ear for about 8 years. It seemed to be a result of an episode of vertigo. Perhaps it has lessened since BTD, GTD and SWAMI (3 years compliant) but not gone. After a while you get used to it since there really is no other choice (that I am aware of). I have never noticed anything triggering it although I have heard others affected by too much salt or sugar.

Thanks, Andrea. From the article, this describes my tinnitus:
Quoted Text
A few people have a type of tinnitus that pulses with every heartbeat (pulsatile tinnitus). This kind of tinnitus results from a (big) artery too close to your middle ear.
Now I know! |

for me, my tinnitus was a result of a car accident. Had it for about 8 years, both ears. Since switching to BTD/GTD/SWAMI... my tinnitus has disappeared. |

So glad to read this thread. I've had a constant hiss in one ear for over two years. I've been compliant on type O since March with no change in the tinnitus.
I just read a booklet this week entitled: Natural Relief from Tinnitus by Paul Yanick. His reseach is over 15 years old. He is an audiologist who lost his hearing in his 20s and regained 70% through diet. His book is very informative about the ear. But I'm guessing he is blood type A. He has successfully helped people using diet concepts about acid/alkaline balance, live food and avoidance of meat, salt and sugar. Since I am an "O", here's no way I would follow all of his recommendations. So, I'm very glad to see that the BTD has helped others with this problem. |

I forgot to mention one key factor in my above post. Yanick used a product called Synchrozyme Plus. It seems to be a live food supplement to nourish the damaged inner ear. Has anyone heard of this supplement? I wonder how it compairs with Dr D'Adamo's live food ABO specific products. |

I found the ingredients for the supplement mentioned above. Unfortunately, this product does not seem to be currently available. Dr Yanick's formula called Synchrozyme contained the followiing: spirulina, pfaffia paniculata, astragalus, lecithin, royal jelly, antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase, dismutase, catalase), milk thistle, coenzyme Q10, trans ferulic acid, and synchronized enzymes. I'm a new poster and don't know if I can quote copyrighted material. But here is a quote from his booklet Natural Relief from Tinnitus:
Quoted Text
Synchrozyme(TM) nutrients fortify the body on both the physical and energetic level. Each organic nutrient complex radiates a unique and subtle vibration. To assimilate food correctly, a person must absorb the vibrational energy from the food into his/her vital life force. Through this process, the vibrations of synergistic nutrient combinations interact with the multiple oscillating subsystems in the body (vital life force). Most importantly, these vibrating nutrients possess pure harmonic oscillations of energy needed to propel nutrients deep into the cellular environment so they can quickly energize every cell in the body.
His booklet is quite fascinating and informative for anyone with ear noise and hearing loss. The first words in the book are:

Thank you so much, Lola, for your input.
I agree with BuddysMom. I'm not willing to just live with the ear noises.
What I've read from Dr D'Adamo as well as Dr Yanick (Natural Relief from Tinnitus) is that recovery can take a year or more. Speaking for the millions of folks who have constant ear noise and/or hearing loss, I would strongly urge Dr D'Adamo to add a protocol for healing the ears. He has a supplement for eyes (Ocubright). Is it possible to create a supplement to promote ear health as well? I don't know the history behind the supplement Synchrozyme or why it is not currently available. Is there a BTD practitioner who could respond to these questions and concerns? |

Andrea, Thank you so much for the link! Now I know that mine is probably the eustachian tube pressure and allergy related. Interesting read about Meniere's disease, also. Two of my first cousins have this...one had to have surgery because the tinnitus ruled his life! |

Yes, I finally dropped the avoid foods in March. I've been 99.9% free of avoid foods since then. I do use the deflect and some other products. So, I'm doing what I can do. Frankly, the constant noise is not so noticeable. It is, however, a constant reminder that I've had a lifetime of abusing my body with avoid foods. In that since, it's a strong motivator to eat only superfoods. The lack of balance whenever I get out of bed is not much fun to deal with. But it's still minor. My main focus on this issue has to do with friends who suffer far more that I do with this condition. I might suggest a live food product for their blood type. |
