Hi everyone!
I was hosting an ERFYT Booth today at a local event and the woman in the next booth over had heard me explain the basics of ERFYT all day and had a question for me.
Her daughter is having 21 day cycles, Acne on her face and back and digestive issues.
The daughter is most likely Blood type A and is currently taking several natural products for all of her ailments. Dong Quai is one of the supplements - the mom is thinking there is a estrogen / progesterine imbalance. Some enzymes - to help with digestion, and some probiotics that are not blood type specific.
After hearing this I did ask if the mom had had the daughters teststerone levels checked and also explained that Dr. D'Adamo has products that actually work.
I suggested the Blood Type A Diet, Aromastat and the Fem Balance for the cycle problems and the Blood Type Specific Probiotics to heal the Gut. I thought the acne problem would take care of itself with the above suggestions.
Since I don't have the most experience with female issues like this I was hoping to hear from those of you who have had similar experiences and what worked. I want to get back with her with the best information.
Thanks,
Tom |

Hi Tom, I had a 20 day cycle for quite a few years and tried several natural products including chasteberry which I found the most helpful. Eventually I turned to the pill to control my ever shortening cycle but that stopped working as well. The cause turned out to be benign polyps with some small fibroids and I had to have a Dilation/curettage and polyp removal to control my cycle. She should get checked by a gynaecologist for those things first as no supplements will help if stuff like that is present in the uterus. Getting her hormone levels checked is a must to eliminate more sinister causes like tumours etc. Hope this helps! |

Getting typed first - and getting the right diet .
and then I am thinking Most 14 yo haven´t got their proper hormone balance yet she seems quite normal to me.- so I would worry about getting her on too many supplement so early. E got her priod when she was 12 and it is first now at 17 that is very regular and in balance. |

I had all kinds of issues around period from age 15. Once I changed my diet, got off cow's milk and gluten the hormones settled down dramatically. I think she would benefit from looking at her diet in line with blood type, but might also consider testing with Enterolab for sensitivities. Lin |

On the right diet her body will heal itself.. then if in a few month her times are not normal, then take her for on exam. The changes in eating will be great, for teens hard to do, but even small improvements will make a big difference in the healing process and a process it is..
Milk is over night but other effects are seen over longer time spans.. getting her to even focus on some things will be a great achievement. I would also hold off on sups for a few months.. Food is most often the answer. I might even go so far as finding vegetable juices and give her them to clear up her face.. I bet she has bathroom issues also.. going often, seldom or hard to pass.
Vegetable juices from compliant foods are great medicines.. and taste so good. Fruits on the other and should be eaten in place of pop, sweets and candy.. good luck in converting a young person to thinking about food as more then just to keep the body going.. |
| When I see other peoples medicines schedule-I am happy to be here taking care of my health I only wish to drop weight more easily-life would be perfection Being 'here' creates understanding. BTD prevents damage from eating avoids. Thanks Dr D & your sups - all support and friendships |

I think step one is to get her blood type accurately checked. If she's "most likely blood type A" then I'm guessing both her parents are As, which means that she also might be an O. A's and O's have vastly different diets, and she won't heal if she's put on the wrong diet. Doing a secretor test is also an excellent idea.
Some of the "hormonal imbalance" issues might just be a matter of her age, but that depends on when she first started getting her period. If she got her first period a year ago, then 3 week cycles are 100% normal. If she's been menstruating for 3 years already, then it's far less likely that her hormones will settle down without some help. |

I had short cycles too. Usually 24-25 days. Could be an A thing. |

Interesting - cause I was told by my gyn - that it could take up to 5 years to get a proper cycle. I think it took around 4 years for me to get a good cycle.( that has lasted since then ) and for Emma it was about the same |

I just meant that, the more recent it's been since she started menstruating, the more likely it is that she's not settled into a stable cycle yet. The more time that passes, the more likely it is that a woman will settle down into a stable cycle, and that those who haven't become stable yet are more likely to need some help (with diet or supplements.) I don't think there are any hard and fast rules about how long it "should" take. And since some girls start their periods at 10 and others at 14, just knowing the age of this girl doesn't really tell us where she is in development.
If she's had her period twice, 3 weeks apart, it's WAY too soon to make any kind of changes (although BTD eating could never hurt anyone.) If she's been having short cycles for several years, then the addition of herbal remedies is more appropriate (although I don't know if the specific herbs she's being given are what the girl needs right now.) |

Definitely need to find out her type and secretor status, then avoid dairy & maybe she's eating beef? I think the non-grass fed, non organic beef/dairy is probably a big offender here, as could be wheat/gluten. As an O, for years I was eating regular corn fed beef, yikes, and eating normal unorganic dairy, not so good for anyone I think! Also agree with avoiding sugary foods. |
