I'm concerned about bile dropping into my intestine directly in a more or less constant way since my gallbladder removal. I have some irritation in my colon according to a recent colonoscopy (plus polyps) and though my doc said he didn't believe the bile could have anything to do with it (and yet he asked me to stop drinking GREEN TEA!!!!) Bile sounds more irritating than green tea, but...? So I wonder if some method of emulsifying it (lecithin?) would be better for my colon. Would eating a low fat diet help? (I eat a rather high fat one...) Advise and help wanted! |

Polyps.... Live Cell will keep them from growing. Broccoli sprouts and white domestic mushrooms will have a similar effect.
Bile... dripping into your colon? Your intestines are pretty hardy... make sure you keep your gut flora healthy. |

A good thing?
When it is controlled by the gall bladder, bile into the digestive tract is a good thing... |

You can still get gallstones even after the gallbladder is removed.
Bile is a good thing when it is concentrated in the gallbladder and excreted at the proper times, but not dripped in on a continual basis. It will not harm you, but managing the GI tract to optimize function becomes essential.
I might think about applying a castor oil pack at least once a month. |

is the castor oil pack for stones? I think its a liver detox....and the two may not be mutually exclusive. |

I suffered from issues for five years after I had mine out. That exactly how it feels. As if the bile is just getting dumped into your system and causes an immediate irritation. Needless to say I try not to leave home before 10 because I'll never know when I'll need to run to the bathroom. I do have to say since I started BT I'm about 50% better.
While I was suffering with the gallbladder, fat was a issue couldn't eat it at all. Now with out I don't think it has as much of an impact.

yes, twenzel, fat was a big issue before, now its no problem, and I have no difficulties as a result of the removal, but a colonoscopy shows some irritation, maybe a bit of colitis, doc not sure, so I was just wondering. How to best protect my colon. I'm considered high risk for colon cancer. My mom got diagnosed last year at age 90. Now I figure whatever you get at age 90.....well, it isn't necessarily a high risk for your relatives, but.....it's there. (colon cancer risk goes up with age so if you live to 90 your risk is very high) Isa, how do you get these salvestrols? I have a resveratrol supp....any other ideas? And Eric, good thought....glad you put it that way. |

I would research including lecithin with food and also a quality digestive enzyme that includes lipase. |

White button mushrooms are awesome if they are neutral or beneficial. |

My ND put me on Panaxea Gut Repair which is like a prepbiotic mix since having my GB removed. Really good stuff. |

From what I was told it was to heal intestines and the gut, it contains quite a bit of l-glutamine and I cant remember what else, I havent got any at the moment, I also was diagnosed with celiac disease a few months after I had my GB out, and my gut needed alot of repairing. She said I should stay on it permanently, she recommended it over any other kind of pre/probiotic. |

I tried to find the ingredient list for the supplement, but it's only available to medical professionals. |
