Policy checker, I grew up in England and now live just outside Washington D.C. and enjoy easy access to various Integrative/Holistic health doctors which I have come to rely on over past years. I recently found an MD who also does holistic and found that between her and going to a Acupuncturist from China who includes her Chinese remedies, food recommendations etc., has made a big difference. I know we still need traditional Doctors, they definitely have their place. But I think if you have good intuition you know what will serve best. And as long as you feel intuitively you are on the right track that is the most important thing. We are all here for you. |

Look up deep vein thrombosis and other maladies that match your symptoms.
Diagnosis for your leg may be as easy as an ultrasound. Doctors have training and equipment not available to you.
Once you have a diagnosis, choose your own course of action. If something is prescribed to you, it is your choice how to proceed. |

Okay, I have booked a Doctor (General Practitioner) to visit me and have a look at my leg and prostate today at 4.30 pm
In the mean time my urine seems to be acidic so i have am trying a spoonful of bicarb in a glass of water first thing.
this will be followed by grapefruit (as i understand it is alkaline forming)
I shall re access all this tonight after the doctor has her say.
My leg was much better first thing today, but as soon as i started sitting down at the computer it starts to ache and not just at the lower part too.

best of luck with the doctor today pc. Try and get as many tests (bloods-urine etc) done as possible. As another Irish male I understand our love of doctor's visits |

ok lets say the urine is off... well what do you think about that.. IT TELLS you what might be going on.. DON"t fool the doctor tests by counteracting on it.. It is a baramoter for your health!
eventually you could drink cherry juice as that will purefy the blood.. but first find out what is going on.. ESPECIALLY since you are compliant.. it takes MUCH to bring down a compliant person.. and then also -- what about passing on stuff to others.. and sore throats are not to be overlooked if they are strep, or pneumonia..
why is the doc coming to your house.. here we would be dead by the time someone would suggest such a thing.. and we pay for our medical care.. and way much to..

Really Goldie some times there is absolutely no pleasing you.
They get paid a lot of money, so what's the problem. no doctor in the uk that is a GP earns less that £100,000 and they only make a few house calls - I'm just one of them. one house call from a Doctor is 50 years seems fair to me! I don't know one minute some are saying it's life threatening the next that i shouldn't have a doctor call. I know it's impossible to please everyone but Please try and me more positive or something :0 |

I'm just glad someone is going to see you. I don't like doctors either so I feel for you, but I do think you should at least get a diagnosis. I have a problem with doctors diagnosing incorrectly , but hopefully that's not the case for you today. Anyway, hopefully after today you'll have a clearer path of how to proceed. Other than your leg have you been feeling better and getting over the other symptoms? It's been quite awhile; I hope you're all better soon! |

Hey think that was a good move to call the doctor given you are still having pains. Gosh I remember the days when doctors did house calls in England. Brings back memories. We don't have that in the Washington DC area, not sure if it exists anywhere else in the U.S. Good luck with the Doctor today, hopefully he will have some idea of what is going on and if not will be able to recommend some tests to find out. |

Hopefully he has a doppler with him and can do an ultrasound of your lower leg to rule out a blood clot, you might also have cellulitis which can be very uncomfortable...I hope you find something out. And you should refrain from being on it too much until you're sure there is NO clot to keep from mobilizing it. No massage, no heat etc. I hope you find out something soon and get all better. I agree with you about mainstream doctors. Sometimes we need the diagnostics though...wish you a speedy recovery! |

It doesn't take much to fool the doctors Goldie. exactly the point I made .. a doctor needs to see your urine in its 'bad' stat, not after you changed it for the better.. I'm just trying to heal myself.-- what about passing on stuff to others.. and sore throats are not to be overlooked if they are strep, or pneumonia.. Goldie I don't understand what your trying to say? SORE throats can be dangerous for your heart! and cause damage for life... you where not eating for days.. something is bothering your body.. you where/are ill .. and some stuff takes weeks to incubate and so when you are ill such a long time, you might influence the health of others around you.. --- NOT so much the leg part, there we are all afraid of Thrombosis.. a condition that could kill the tissue in your foot .. you know this to be possible.. THAT is why it's a good thing that you get some evaluation.. (not so much for you but so WE can stop to worry.. why is the doc coming to your house.. this was badly phrased.. I should have said.. how come you are so lucky.. because ... here we would be dead by the time someone would suggest such a thing.. and we pay for our medical care.. and way much to.. - Having paid higher rate tax my whole life and never seen any benefit from it, I don't think it unreasonable for a doctor to visit me when i have issue with running to the toilet and limping. Really Goldie some times there is absolutely no pleasing you. in fact it is the way to prevent outside contamination.. a good thing.. .
oh so you think I blamed you?? By this time .. You might really already know what is wrong.. and so all is better with you -then this afternoon.. MY mention about home visits.. That is the best thing could happen to you as moving around might actually be dangerous.. but in the US we would all 300 millions be dead before any doctor makes a home visit.. not even a plague would get them to go to someons home.. I was not against you getting good service ..but 'I' was expressing wonder that you have what I remember from 50 years ago at home -to be normal medical care - in most other countries. Here we have 1/3rd of the countries political public working on trying to distroy a Presidency so they can take all medical care away from everyone. Like they interpret it the devils work to get medical care for prevention and for womans health, for children and old people, when they need it most...... From that point of my writing yes, I am hard to please, I wish for healthcare for everyone... I also want peace and fairness, and foods that make us well .. and the acceptance of alternative care.. so what did the doc say? its late here so she must have been there already.. |

Anyway, pretty well wasted a day at the hospital after doctors visit. It's 11 pm just got home from hospital.
Leg - they are not sure, after taking blood test, something is wrong but need scan to be sure, can do that until Monday. - but wanted to thin my blood anyway using mdedication - I declined, They looked at me as if i was daft - I said you don't even know what blood type am and you want ot thin my blood, you are having a laugh!. tjhey kept on saying how dangerous it is, I said first of all you don't know that for sure and secondly if all you want is for me to reduce my blood a bit lemon juice can do that. I told them to look it up!
Prostate - urinary tract infection - given antibiotics as expected. Trimethoprim 200 mg 2 tabs a day for a week. Not taking them unless I have to so I would like recommendations for alternative to antibiotics that can clear urinary tract infection. count was 18 instead of 8 apparently. who knows
In the short term I have taken another glass of water with bicarb in it, as that helped this morning. and i shall be taking a lemon in water to reduce thin my blood 20%. should be enough lol
I sat and watched all the Animal Manure for 6 hours, hospitals are a great big money drin=ving machine. they are totally inefficient.
so I would like recommendations for alternative to antibiotics that can clear urinary tract infection.
They all thought my throat was fine.
If my leg was okay the wait in A&E for 6 hours will probably kill me. and i still have to go back for scans. |

Sorry that you're having to go through all this!
My grandfather used to completely cure urinary tract infections just by drinking cranberry juice. I'm not sure how much or how often, but you could probably find info online. Goldenseal and Uvi ursi are also supposed to be good. |

Do you have any grapefruit seed extract? It's so powerful that it's supposed to be good for just about everything (although there is some controversy about its safety). I generally use it for cleaning, not consuming, but I checked it out in terms of UTI and found:
Quoted Text
The best remedy for a UTI is grapefruit seed extract (GSE). It can be found at any health food store. Three or four times a day, dissolve 10-15 drops of GSE into 1/3 cup water or orange juice. Drink it down quickly; it's bitter.

What about D-Mannose? My mother uses that as a preventive for repeated UTI's. Along with cranberry juice, and she hasn't had an infection since starting that. The leg is concerning... Did they discuss the risks with you, if indeed it is a clot? And btw I completely agree with your attitude regarding doctor's and hospitals, and I'm an RN, so that's saying a lot. Oh and you were at a hospital where the doctor says something is wrong and wants to put you on a blood thinner AND they CAN'T do a scan until Monday? HUH? really? WOW that's amazing...I'm surprised they would let that wait until Monday. Thin that blood...cayenne pepper is supposed to be good for that isn't it? Others here probably know more than me...but seems I've heard that. And it's a diamond on my SWAMI...but I'm a Hunter not sure what is on yours. Anyway take care... |

you're an O but explorer, so far begin with lower dosage of olive leaf extract ca.250mg's 6xdaily and or add some boswellia serrata...800mg's 3-5xdaily.. put on top of the bladder some *Cajeput-essential oil* justamente some drops and do a gentle massage it works wonders repeat it for several times daily; have an eye onto the antiinflammatory and or immunsystem sustain program in the encyclopedia ... btw... I remarked that the intake of antibiotics didn't worked for me at all, better to go for the phytos .... |

They just said that there were signs of clotting in the blood sample - but when i pushed him for more info he said that if you have an infection this would show up anyway.
any way my legs seems better anyway again today .
I am able to control the bladder pain much better just by drinking more water. I have to buy some of those things mentioned earlier like olive leaf extract etc. but might take a while to get hold of.
so i think I'll continue drinking my lemon juice. try some cranberry juice and also some pineapple juice.
I did n't notice any recommendation to fro things like hydrogen peroxide drops in water for the UTI. shame as i have som eof that and i also have the MMS and pau D'Arco. I also have a load of lugols iodine shame none of those would help that.
Thanks again everyone and feel free to add anything - I read and check every suggestion. |
