Has this topic been previously covered? My DH's brother was just diagnosed with CML. There is no leukemia in their family so they are confused. I just researched this and found out it is not inherited. My brother in law is seeking a second opinion. I am saddened by the survival rate and wonder if anyone out there has a story to share about this disease? My DH was just diagnosed with Atrial-fib and now this news....the poor guy needs a break. My BIL is blood type A+ Please and thank you for any comments. |

following the cancer book and finding out secretor status will help her avoid unnecessary inflammation, which in a way is to blame for the condition she is in now.
it won t hurt following the protocols in the book, consulting with her Drs.
sorry she developed this |

CML is frequently associated with the Philadelphia chromosome. He needs to be checked for this marker. People who have this mutation can take the drug Gleevec in order to keep it in control. Best of luck to your BIL. .....and of course the BTD or GTD is always a good place to start. |

Captain J and Lola, thank you so much! My brother in law is going to have a bone marrow biopsy so we will know more then. Meanwhile my husband thanks you all for any info, also. This is his younger brother and they are very close. My husband (type O) has A-Fib and is anxious about his little brother....his little brother(typeA) has CML and is more worried about his big brother's heart! |

Is your BIL on the BTD @ all? If not would he be open to trying it? Can't hurt while he's on traditional treatments. In my opinion it would definitely benefit his immune system that can take a beating w/ the treatments.
It will definitely make him stronger, which is a plus for the fight.
Good luck & best wishes, |

Ruthie and Amazone.....Thank you for the thoughts. Kauaian.....He is not on the BTD but his wife has expressed an interest and bought the EatRight4YourType book. I have given her my bloodtype encyclopedia to read. She is BT A just like her husband, and me, so she does try to grocery shop and cook closely to the "A" diet. He just happens to be one of those stubborn (did I mention my DH's family is mostly Irish) steak loving A's. I know they eat alot of fresh veggies like kale, spinach, salads with baby greens and nuts. Thanks for caring! |
