flew to Arizona with a friend for a week. This friend neither ate nor slept. We drove all over in a renta car, we spent lots of time in hot tubs and pools, I got dehydrated one night, blood racing, after being in hot water all day.....now that I'm back I can;t seem to normalize my sleep, take ambien every night, feel weak all day. After reading a thread on short term adrenal exhaustion, I wondered if that is what I have. I have had adrenal ex. before....big time, but that was yrs ago when I was a vegetarian. wonder what supps I may need, wonder where the real jayneeo might be......I feel a bit more normal today than yesterday..... |

I was going to say that jet lag lasts 5 days.. I think you will be much better of without ambien.. but that is your choice.. I would rather eat something that may settle you to bed.. like in my case some rice.. or some other starch.. and NOT TO WORRY it will go away..!!.. why not write out a post on what the good parts of the trip where, including the resolution that you are grateful that you never have to go with this person again ... imagine being married to someone like that... Ha.. I once almost wanted to.. I was saved by providence.. laugh.. it's good medicine.. |
| When I see other peoples medicines schedule-I am happy to be here taking care of my health I only wish to drop weight more easily-life would be perfection Being 'here' creates understanding. BTD prevents damage from eating avoids. Thanks Dr D & your sups - all support and friendships |

appreciate your response, Goldie...AZ is only one time zone away....but who knows? I don;t want to use ambien forever...but that's a slippery slope....but I was just so jangly nerved I neeeded sleep.....
Good parts: I actually went on a trip!!! (which I never do) The accomodations were glorious, the art and architecture were great! (I lost a couple lbs..friend never ate)
I'm glad I went! now to recover. |

Jayneeo, try some Rescue Sleep (by Bach Flower). It helps me fall asleep, and if I wake in the middle of the night, fall back to sleep. |

Jayneeo, the fact that you were dehydrated, you still might be. Flying causes even more dehydration and you were in a very dry climate. If I were you, I'd be focusing on minerals/fluids. Green drinks...trying to stay hydrated and mineralized. It doesn't sound like adrenal exhaustion to me. And it doesn't really sound like jet lag from one time zone away. It's happened to me...I wound up in the ER with severe dehydration one summer after being on a boat and not wanting to overdo the fluids...I spent 2 hours on a drip and needed restoration of fluids/electrolytes...Took me many days to feel better. Even a pinch of sea salt in every glass of water might be helpful. Do you have the Blood type O minerals? I would try that formula Feel better. . |

I don't know the solution. Chloe's advice seems good. Just wanted to say I hope you feel better soon, Jayneeo. I've had exhausting trips like that before, but I was much younger and could bounce back like a rubber ball. Now, I wouldn't go without sleeping & eating, driving all over the place. I can't imagine I ever thought that was fun. |

Hi Jayneeo, Speaking of trips..... My Dad loves the Monterey Jazz festival every March so many in the family go for a long weekend. My husband and I haven't been in a few years so are looking forward to leaving tomorrow and returning Sunday. There are no direct flights from Ontario to Monterey so we always fly to San Jose, get a car and drive down to Monterey. I love the beautiful country/seaside. Looks like your weather will be ok this weekend? I know what you mean about flying...doesn't matter where ...it makes me tired. |

Hi Jayneeo,I know what you mean about flying...doesn't matter where ...it makes me tired.
Me too!! It doesn't seem to matter if it's in the same time zone even - something about flying so fast for even an hour or so...Oh & definitely the dehydration Hope you've recovered well by now, Jaynee All the best for your trip too, cajun!! |

As Chloe suggested you could be low in certain minerals??!! I think low magnesium (would also affect sleep) could be associated with the dizziness May be in trying to quickly rehydrate, you washed out to many minerals??!! Also in not eating properly for a while you may have upset your balance of nutrients & minerals??! |

God bless you guys, thanks for the kind thoughts. No worries. I have all positive energy/prayers/faith..... I am off to the hospital with cortiguard in my body and a smile on my face! Just a note.....my hubby is a 6'2",(extremely stubborn/smiling eyes) mostly Irish/part Sioux, BT O+ , big-boned Hunter with the best sense of humor. He really is one tough cookie! |

Cajun, Hope your DH is OK!
I got sick 2 weeks ago when I flew to Louisiana. I'm still recovering. I got ANOTHER sinus infection and had to go to a clinic for some Zithromax. I still managed to give it to my son's whole family who I went down to help out when my DIL had surgery on her leg. Went to help with my 11 mo old granddaughter. I was supposed to have a colonoscopy today that I canceled because I'm still not feeling well.
I've been dehydrated too. I tried the neti pot for the sinuses but this time it didn't work and dried me out too much and all I'm left with is a salty taste in my mouth and a drip..... This too shall pass - didn't mean to hijack this thread. Hope all is well. Jane |

Oh Jane! I hope you recover soon! Thank you for the kind thoughts, also. My DH had the cardi verse/"shock" of 200 jules(?) It didn't last one day. His cardiologist put him on 3 meds, will shock again on thursday, will do an angiogram, will send DH to sleep apnea clinic (He believes this contributed to the Atrial -fib) and last resort will be a pacemaker. My nasal polyp and turbinate removal/sinus cavities scraped surgery is March 31. All of this will be done by April 1 because our insurance deductable goes from 500 to 2000! I think we are about to be very busy. Keeping the faith! |
