I promised my doctor I'd get one before the end of the year (2010), and I still haven't made the appointment.     I really need to do it soon.  This is a timely reminder for me as well.

There's no time like the present!   and re colonoscopy, the immediate present.

IF     we were very small children right now, living right for our type, growing a healthy gut from the very beginning, ah well, maybe there had been a room for hesitation... But the way things are NOW, in reality, oh man, there's nothing else in the world that can assure you that you are not growing a tiny-weeny 2 mm polip. See, a bit yuck for some hours and it'll be over for a good few years. Yaeli's warm recommendation.

The part I would be more fearful of is the sedation! I don't want drugs in my system.
I still haven't had one yet. One dr. says he hasn't, as he doesn't feel you can trust the sterility of the instruments, etc. I would go to a hospital with a good rating on these things. I think the info is available if you hunt around.
What is your history; what are your habits; etc.?  I'm kind of in the middle for healthy people.
If you eat the SAD(standard American diet) & have other bad habits, it may be needed.
