Sheri,

I add 8-10 drops of each essential oil to a 1 fl. oz. bottle, and fill with water. I use an empty essential oils bottle with the plastic dropper insert. Shake bottle vigorously and add 10 drops of the mixture to a little water and swish it in your mouth for at least 20 seconds. The mixture should last you a couple months, and save you a lot of money on mouthwash.

Excellent tip ... I plan to add this to my after brushing experience!

What are the essential oils that you mix with the clove? I had a dentist appointment today and I am extremely frustrated. I have to get some fillings replaced, and I was told that there isn't anything I can do about it. It's just hereditary. I will get the fillings replaced, but I would like to find a way to stop the annual dental issues.

Welcome, Mrs AM.  We are thinking you may be a non-secretor.  High compliancy can balance your body quickly.  In my case, dental cavities have slowed to a stop.  But the right kind of oral hygiene is vital:  daily flossing, for one!!

Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.

Mrs.AM,

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. You can find my recipe for the essential oil mouthwash in my earlier reply to this thread:

Quoted from de_nogent
My friend (type O) recently complained of a sore throat he had for about a month. I suggested that he start flossing daily, and I gave him some essential oils (clove, tea tree, eucalyptus, peppermint, lavender, thyme) diluted in water to use as a mouthwash after flossing and brushing. I also gave him astragalus and elderberry supplements. Within a few days I asked him about his sore throat, and he happily replied that it was all gone. He was still taking the supplements, so I said he should stop taking them, continue flossing and using the mouthwash, and see if the symptoms come back. If the sore throat returns, he will need to try something else. I would suggest the BTD for starters .

Since I started flossing every day and using essential oils, I no longer get sore throat, sinus pressure, or gingivitis. I can't stress enough the importance of flossing and clove (oil/spice), especially for O's. This is not the first time I have suggested this to O's on this forum. In fact, I've lost count. I should start a thread: "Flossing for Dummies" lol, jk

I'm no doctor, but just think about it: If you're an O and eat an animal protein based diet, those foods can easily get stuck in your teeth and begin harboring bacteria such as candida. Combine this with the O's susceptibility to bacteria and viruses and voila, you get oral, ear, nose, throat, and even digestive problems.

1. floss
2. brush
3. clove

Thank you all for the replies. It's interesting that you mention the secretor test, because I didn't know if it mattered. When I took the quiz on the site to see which diet to follow, it said there wasn't much distinction between my results so I could try either diet. I had been thinking about following the Genotype; I scored very high for Hunter. Does secretor status matter in the Genotype diet? Or were you suggesting that I follow the Type O Blood type diet?
