My Aunt has had extreme diarrhea for about 4 weeks now. She's on missions in Alaska staying in a small cabin. Apparently about a week into the ordeal someone went to check on her and she was so dehydrated she was talking a little loony. They took her to the clinic, rehydrated her and now they're trying to give her all kinds of drugs. She e-mails me the name of the drug, I look it up, show her the side effects, and she returns the drug back to the clinic. We've got a little system going here. Anyhow, the tests have finally shown that she has a high white blood cell count in her intestines and a bunch of yeast. I've told her no starch or sugar. And lots of probiotics. Anymore ideas or anyone every gone through something like this? She's a type B. Likely she's a secretor and I have no idea what her genotype would be. She's tall, large boned, fairly slim. She has very long toes and long fingers. Not sure if any of that helps. Leanne! |

I would give her the beneficial list for B and have her drink plenty of water. I know she is at the mercy of what is available for foods, but if she has been sick, most people are willing to make an effort to get what is necessary... |

I assume they have tested for Clostridium difficile overpopulation, but if they haven't they should. |

Thanks Lloyd. I e-mailed her what you said and she's going to take it to the doc. What is it by-the-way? Her and I were cracking up over just trying to pronounce it! Let's hope she doesn't have it otherwise she'll never be able to tell anyone what she's got!

It's a bacteria that can get out of control in the intestinal tract. The symptoms are right but it's probably something else. Best to be safe anyhow. |

We call it C. Diff. in the hospital. I have seen Dr. D suggest startchy veggies ( from their lists) for anyone with diarrhea. |

I e-mailed her the info and they did test her for that. Negative.
She's eating all meats and veggies for right now.
