To start with: I am a very happy BTD person!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen in writing a focus on the problems caused by mercury from amalgam fillings followed by BTD suggestions. I've had big problems due to this - hormone problems just to mention one. I am now detoxing my body and building up imbalances.
One of my problems is that I've become allergic to EMF (Electro Magnetic Fields). Different symptoms occur but my biggest problem for many years is that my body swells -especially my legs -when exposed to these fields - also geopathic fields. I am very happy for any advice on this issue. |

But the EMFs are everywhere! How can you avoid them? Do you live in the middle of nowhere without power? |

What detox method are you using? The method you are using is probably causing more problems than it is solving. From a diet standpoint you want to be on a BTD compatible anti-candida diet. The reason for this is that if you have a mercury problem, then you have a candida problem. Both are harmful to your health. Follow a BTD compatible anti-candida diet to prevent the continued growth of candida in your body. The relationship between candida and mercury is that mercury weakens the immune system so candida can proliferate, and candida binds mercury. That means you do not want to do anything to overtly kill the candida at this point because you will suddenly release a lot of mercury in your body, which based on your already problematic health could be devastating to you. |

When my dentist removed my mercury fillings last year she used a chlorella rinse. Chlorella acts like a mercury magnet.
Last week when I went to the dentist to have the old crowns with metal underneath removed, she didn’t have to use that procedure. But what we didn’t expect to find was 4 pins in an active nerve. I worry about metal in my mouth affecting electrical impulses.
I don’t know, but I wonder if metal in the body could make one sensitive to EMF.
Food for thought. More knowledgeable ones will come along soon. |

Large chunks of metal in your body may indirectly be a problem, but the real problem is the molecular metal that ends up spreading around your body and causing problems with the weaker parts of your body.
I believe that heavy metals and metals are by far the most toxic substances to the human body, with mercury being the absolute worst and most common and lead a frequent and common second. Other metals are also a problem, such as aluminum, cadmium, etc, but not nearly as common.
If you address the key toxins the body becomes much more able to deal with all the other toxins. However, I do not recommend most of the commonly advertised methods of metal chelation. |

Too true! Over on Curezone.com - Cilantro has been widely used as a Chelating agent...The pesto recipe in particular comes up frequently. If you have a wheatgrass juicer, the juices from greens like Coriander Leaf or Parsley do have a remarkable effect on the body. |

Lot of replies and concerns - thank you!
Detoxing the body too fast may cause the body to be oversensitive to EMF's. I have however had reactions to cell phones early 80's before I ever new anything about mercury poisoning. Falling asleep in meetings, in front of the computer - but I never found out until I had this extreme terrible taste in my mouth - like chewing tinfoil. The radiation from i.a. cellphones reacts with mercury in amalgam and the spit has it react like an electrode extracting even more mercury. As I had gold and amalgam together that was like having a battery in the mouth.
Detoxing? I have used homeopathic medicine, Vivitex, quantum medicine with aqua-detox. So in addition with treatment (ostepathic, TCM etc), nutrional additives a must. There is little amalgam left in my body and I'm hope to be strong one day. I've had candida for years, now almost nothing left.
EMF's everywhere, yes for certain. I do not live in the mountains - but use new technology to get rid of the worst EMF's at home. I have a son of 5 and we are trying to find a place to live where radiation is not as bad as where we live now.
I'll try the cilantro chelating recipe.
But still my body swelling as I sit here by the PC, I believe there must be a way to strengthen the body to handle this part in a better way.

I wear a Q-Link when I sit in front of my old computer at home. I was going to just decribe what it does, but I guess thay've done more research then when I got mine many years ago. http://www.q-linkproducts.com/h_science_research.shtml |

For working at your computer, what kind of monitor do you have? I'm not positive of this, but I believe the newer flat panel monitors emit much less radiation than the tradition CRT/tube monitors, so that is something to consider. Anyone know for sure about this who can chime in? |

I can work all day at the office on my flat panel monitor and not feel affected. I also do not have any difficulty when out on the road working on my laptop. But my computer at home is old and I can feel the difference when I work on it for a long time. Ironically I just pulled out my Q-link and put it on right before reading this post. |

In comparison with a CRT an LCD emits almost no harmful electromagnetic radiation (The CRT work by slamming an electron beam into a surface--incidently a tube that produces x-rays works much the same way --somewhat different energy level different material for the target). CRTs emit ELF from 60 Hz to 75 Hz and VLF from 10kHz to 30kHz in additions to x-rays (normally at levels too low to be measurable). An LCD works entirely differently so very little harmful radiation is created (obviously it is still emitting visible light). Also LCDs uses 60% less energy and have less flicker. |

We lost power last night and it didn't come back on for hours. It was so quiet! The baby slept! I slept! Wow. Maybe I should unplug everything every night. I was amazed at how calm the silence was. I didn't realize how much "noise" a phone, clock, computer (not in the bedroom), and plugged in lamps, etc. make! |

just unplugging the computer or turning it off, makes so much difference. but not until you actually do it, do you realize just how much noise they make. |

I rarely turn my computer off, but I have noticed that it's much quieter after disconnecting the 2 internal case fans (I removed the side panel to make up for them in air flow) and setting the hard drives to spin down after a period of inactivity. |

Flat panel monitor - is what I use. The EMF's the problem along with geopathic stress and lights and cords around me and laptop can't use on lap... I protect myself to the degree I can, and get along better with the diet, and the more my body detoxes mercury.
Any herbs or supplement that would strengthen the body more efficiently against EMF-stress?
My starting question was the topic of mercury poisoning. An issue effecting most people in the Western world this century. I still find it strange that D'Adamo does not mention this issue and what that does to body imbalance.

Hi
re.flat screen - radiation 1/4" from screen vs regular tube monitor - radiation 16' from screen.
Cells membranes have a structure like M(membrane)-zinc-taurine. The taurine is called a zwitterion (sounds like: twitter-eye-on) This chemical gives the surface of cells a small positive charge. So, most EMF's can be repulsed with a small intake of taurine with zinc supplementation.
Taurine is almost exclusively an amino acid from meat so you may seek just a smallish portion of meat or bone broth for an A. Other ways to note a taurine deficit is an unusually persistent bo smelling much like rotten eggs ... sulfur. |

A few thoughts on Mercury. Has the problem only been around for a short while. if so some ancient remedies are a bit suspect. how does someone go about confirming that for example cilantro binds to mercury - what other things help drag the mercury out of it's hiding places in the body so they can be bound to cilantro and exited. I'm on my Swami diet and feel great - should i bother having all (loads ) of amalgams out. dangers and cost are both high. if root canal surgery is so bad should i just pull all those teeth out and get dentures. I read recent post about mercury in amalgam fillings not being a threat to our health at all - I'm not convinced by this but i have taken it on board. http://www.dadamo.com/B2blogs/blogs/blog1.php/SG-commentary/silver-dental-fillings with respect I'm not sure if sue is a dental specialist. andi actually think mercury is more of a threat than plastic, although plastic is not that great either. |

also, in case this gets missed in another thread,
where is the information saying that candida attracts mercury and should be preserved untill amalgam fillings are removed for example. (aksed by TJ) just before i was going to lol Tj's always one step ahead of me |

The teeth roots are what keeps the gums healthy. If you pull the teeth and get dentures, the gums start to "melt" away and eventually you don't have enough gum for the dentures to sit on... Could be a big problem as you live longer... |
