My type B husband's immune system is pretty vulnerable since quitting smoking & drinking. He's down with a bad flu, his sinuses are inflammed and he has joint pain & fever. He's not a conscious follower of the BTD, but suffice to say that he keeps away from avoids and eats mostly beneficials. He's vegetarian and doesnt eat meat & fish. Eggs, occassionally.

His symptoms are so bad that he's reaching out for very strong nasal sprays to help with nasal conjestion. I read the stuff on the ingredient list and it gives me a headache! I dont want to mollycoddle him with advices...but I really would like to know from other B's what they think would be some basic herbal stuff I could keep at home  & good protocol meant for B's to treat these symptoms.

Thank you very much!

I know what you mean when you say his immune system goes haywire when you quit smoking.  Last year I quit for 4 months.  This year I’m trying it again since 1/1/07.  Is he a nonnie?

When my nose gets stuffed up I use Zicam.  For ears, I put a few drops of Peroxide in them.  For the throat I take a Zinc lozenge when I go to bed.  For infections I take Royal Jelly, Bee Pollen & Propolis.  I take chlorella daily, but when my son gets sick he takes it and swears it makes him feel better.  We drink ginger drinks for stomach aches.

I also put 3 teaspoons of NAP Proberry 3 into Bio-K original (L.Acidophilus + L.Casei Bacteria).  The other flavors have avoids in them.

Make sure he gets all his vitamins especially C & B.  You’ve got to read the whole label especially “other ingredients”.
