My (AB) sister and I have a problem with our ears popping. I have been to the doctor and she said it was sinus condition. My (A) mother has always had a major problem with sinus - draining and from her head - it so bad that in the fall and winter she is constantly coughing due to her head draining.

This is what I found when going online: "relieve the pressure by gargling with warm salt water, which can help clear the eustachian tubes. Sucking on candy or chewing gum may also help."

My doctor suggested taking an antihistamine that I could get at the drug store.

It's been going on for about 4-5 months and it's been driving me crazy. If I take the antihistamine it clears up but I have to keep taking it. Any suggestions for an alternative for sinus condition.

how compliant are you?

getting rid of avoids took care of my sinus problem....
I advise you to drink the warm water with lemon, first thing in the morn, and tell your sister about the importance of eating right for her sinus problem.

there s a sinus protocol you might want to do, also.

I have had a similiar chronic condition.  Total compliance took care of the sinus infections, but not the popping.  I finally ordered some Collinsonia from the NAP store, and (By Gosh!!)  I think it's helping!!
It shrinks boggy and puffy tissues.

I also brush my tongue very well every day and slosh and gargle with warm salt water.  The saline sinus rinse helps, but didn't eliminate the swollen sinus tissues for me.

Stinging Nettle works well as antihistamine for me.

Staying away from dairy -other than butter - wheat and corn keeps my sinuses better than they've been in decades.

I put a few drop of peroxide in my ear and take a Benedryl.

My left ear is still weak after an experience I had many years ago.

I went to Florida at the end of a cold.  I tried to go scuba diving but had to come up because of the pain in my ear.  It seems OK once I surfaced.  I flew home and after I got off the plane I couldnt hear in my right ear for one week and my left for two weeks.  I also developed a bad sinus infection.  My doctor switched medications on me a few times then referred me to a specialist.  He wanted to do surgery on my nose.  I went home and watched a TV news special on how nose surgery could damage the brain.  I canceled the surgery.  The sinus problems eventually went away.

This was before I knew about the BTD.  Stick to your diet, youll get better.

how compliant are you? 90%

I really don't eat much dairy maybe once a month if that much.  Almost never eat corn except popcorn maybe once a month a little popcorn.  I eat wheat about twice a month but have wheat wraps about 3 times a wk.

I will try the warm water with lemon, first thing in the morn.

I will look into the sinus protocol

Thanks

3*wk*4 wks = 12 + 2 = 14    I make that about every other day!

You might want to cut down on your wraps and make your own with sushi nori sheets...

lblackbu, I have to agree with koahiatamadl about the wheat intake. When I was reading your post about it, I thought 'that's a lot of wheat'.
If you can get really strict in cutting out the wheat AND dairy for a couple of weeks, you may see a big change.
You might also want to try some redoxa. http://www.dadamo.com/napharm/BTstore/BTSstore.pl?user_action=detail&catalogno=NP055

This works really well for me.

Wheat is a major avoid for type O's, not just a mild-mannered avoid!    It will screw up your health faster than most other foods.
