I have a friend (as we do) who suffers with hemroids and it is causing him stress because he is involved with equestrian and he spends a lot of time riding horses!

Need I say more, it only takes a tiny bit of imagination to get to the bottom of his delema!

I have tried to search the forums for information of anyone finding BTD effectiveness in helping with the problem of piles but so far no replies at all!

I find that rather amazing, especially when so many people seem to suffer with piles.

Anybody out there on the forum with anything to say about this (piles) your comments would be appreciated.

Cheers John.

Thank you Lola, this friend is a Spanish speaking United States citizen of Puerto Rican origin who is currently visiting New Zealand with a possibility of staying here.
I think the stress and change of food and water are adding to his problems.
I have given him and his wife a copy of ER4Ytype and recommended that they begin to follow the BTD lifestyle as best they can and try to gauge what foods are helping and which ones are making his problem worse.
I have also recommended that he takes a level teaspoon of slippery elm powder in warm water before breakfast and evening meals.
I wondered about the ground linseed, I use that and it really does work wonders for bowel movements but I don't think he has any problems there!
It is very difficult trying to convince some one who is not well that there is something that you can do for yourself without the need to start taking medical doctors prescription pills.
They seem to delight in seeing themselves as a "special case" that the doctor is puzzled by!
That will do it every time, from what I can gather.
He is here to train and school horses, so he should know that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink but will he get the connection?
I would like to learn Spanish so might do that and use him to practice on! It's an ill wind........etc!
Thanks for your response Lola, as always right there when we need you. Cheers (and happy Christmas too) John.

say nada to java...no coffee...causes the intestines to contract which can irritate and already tender hemorrhoid

no alcohol...abstain till they are gone

put away the spicy foods and go bland...spicey foods will burn the hemorrhoids...ouch!!!

bulk up on the beneficial berries...especially blueberries cherries(buy frozen if not found fresh) and beneficial veggies(not raw though)

sip water throughout the day

I use the NAP product Collinsonia (Stone Root) to help shrink mine.  That and exercise seems to do the trick.
