I recently quit birth control at the beginning of this month and tuesday I was expecting my period but It didnt come, it is now thursday and I have bought a pregnancy test but havent used it yet. We always use condoms anyway. Should I be worried, is it just my body getting used to no pills? Is this normal and will it come back once my body gets balanced again and should I call my doctor. She warned me that my periods might get heaver not disappear. |

IF you used condoms every time then I guess it's very unlikely you're preggers? I've never been on the pill, so I'm no expert, nut I'd have thought the hormonal upheaval of giving up the pill might more than account for your period being one day late... Would being pregnant be good news for you right now? |

Well I would be fine with it but the timing is a little off. Going to college for a second time and working part time to pay for it, while living at home. Id like to be a little more settled before I get pregnant but Im willing to deal with what ever life throws my way. So I guess I shouldnt be quite so worried. |

I think it's pretty common to have a late period and some irregularity when you first stop the pill, at least I did just the first month or two. I'd wait another week before doing the test. There's no harm done in taking the test unnecessarily, but it sure can be a suspenseful couple of minutes waiting for the result, even if you don't think you're pregnant, it's a nail-biter. |

Jamie, my advice to you is give your body some months to get back to normal. Wait another 2 or 3 months before trying to get pregnant.. And.. don't stress about it.. Try to focus on other things than getting pregnant. The more relaxed you are the quicker you get results. Take care and have faith in your body, radiate it, affirm it... You will see!! Cocky |

Oh dont worry Im not going to be trying to get pregnant for a couple of years. I was just worrying about my body but now I will wait and give myself time to adjust. Thanks for your concern. |
