Okay, just a warning if you're a guy.............it's a woman thing.......female woman thing.
a friend (blood type O) asked me about a prob she's having w/ recurring bacterial vaginosis for the past year . i asked about antibiotics, candida and sugar.
here are some of her comments:
*as for taking any antiboitics - it's been a year or so.
* Two treatments w/ the NPs,  have not worked.
*she has been very susceptible to candida in the past  and always had a great deal of luck with Candistroy.
*she has also had too much sugar and wine in her diet in recent months.

she found this website in her research:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/en.....07&dopt=Abstract
looks interesting but since i'm not familiar w/ it, thought i'd get some feedback here.

we also discussed taking a good probiotic or some ThreeLac. when she uses probiotics, she uses this:
http://www.naturessunshine.com/products/catalog/ProductLabel.asp?stockNum=4080
looks really good to me, especially this part  "Each capsule is coated with a “modified release” coating so that the contents will be released in the intestinal tract.",     but again, what do you all think?
thanks in advance for all your help and suggestions. she sends her many thanks as well.

she should give a try for a bifidus yogi and then apply it directly into her vagin....the most easiest of all and normally within hours, and after 2x such a procedure...all should be solved...ok might be, because of those long term, that she might need a 3.d  apply...

so, Isa, to be clear, she should take plain acidophillus/bifidus yogurt and apply it directly into her vagina for 3 nights? if this is correct, how much should she use? and while she's doing this, shouldn't she just get, say some blueberry yogurt, so she can have a snack at the same time.    Just kiddin!!

Well Pat, I'm sure that would be a 'two pronged effect'
I've heard of people tipping a tampon in the yog.

I'm having great success clearing mine with Heallix, the spit test gets better every day

I think Candex (a brand) is systemic--it certainly works for the gut (along with all the other stuff but it seems to be a tipping point for me, and great for maintenance).

snacky here and there and everywhere ..yup if thy like it ....

if she want's so go for 2 nights...or even in the day, no matter, just take sorry
she should try it with her fingers to put some into her vagina and thats' all but not only just at the entrance...but a bit deeper and I don't think that eating the yogi will bring her that much
If that won't work, this is one of the cheapest methodes, she can buy some suppositoires and put em in perhaps easier with those lactobacillii...
but please don't suck em

Ciao mamas,

Wow - great stuff! Starting to crave blueberries.

Did I not read at some point that Os are senstive to candida? Not sure....but all my reading on candida is heavy and I have learned that when inbalanced (which apparently is most of the time in the US diet), it is the root cause of diseases like Chronic Fatigue, MS (or MD), and much much more. I would of thought for sure it would be covered in the BTD material....but then again the material doesn't start out discussing disease specific, but blood type specific.

Birth control pills are also a big casue of yeast.

In days gone by when I used to blink and get an infection, I used a turkey baster and a half cup of plain yogurt.  Leave the yogurt sit out at room temp for a bit.  Fill turkey baster, lay in tub and insert.  Yes, it's messy, but it works.

I agree on the yoghurt thing- it works really well- but remember it has to be no sugar no flavour and best with LIVE bacterias!

I only truly clear a yeast infection by improving my diet.  Any other measures are for nought until the diet is cleaned up.

So I went to get some results today from my Doc and she said they found bacterial vaginosis from my swab. She wants me to take antibiotics again   for this. I was just on a 2 week triple HB therapy for antibioics and don't want to take them again if I can help it.  After reading this thread I'm thinking this yogurt method may help ??   BTW as well as being great info here this thread is hilarious!   What do you ladies think? Also, I'll try and find the thread but did somebody say we can put garlic in our vagina and that would work as well ?? Thanks all--

Laura

Great info here, thanks Kimono! There is this one phrase "It is not recommend to try a cut piece in a healthy vagina, as it will “burn” the lining. that caught my attention and not sure if I should try this or not. Although now that I read it again it says "CUT" piece so I think I will try the whole unpeeled garlic clove and see how it goes. I don't have any symptons so I don't know what to look for. I guess it wont hurt to try anyway. Thanks again!

Great thread/posts! I was so fascinated by what you all had to say that I have to share too

Peeled garlic has not really worked for me in the past. I really noticed a difference just changing my diet. Apparently, I'm very sensitive to certain foods. There is one homeopathic remedy that has worked for me--it's called Yeastaway and it's a 7 night treatment.

There's another suppository treatment that is made with tea tree oil. It helps dry out yeast infections as well. I hear it also works for bacterial vaginosis.

I think applying yogurt directly into the vagina should work well too like others have mentioned. I would avoid using a tampon only because some people are very sensitive to it and it can actually be more irritating than helpful. The best thing is to try one of the suggestions and stay with it for a while to see if it's working. After 4 days with the garlic suppository overnight, I gave up and went to the store to try Yeastaway and that really helped me at the time.

On a side note, this may be helpful for some readers...for those of you who are trying to figure out why you might be having a recurring dose of vaginal yeast infections, I thought this was interesting--a friend of mine had recurring infections--almost once a month for several months. Basically, her naturopath said that the latex condom she was using with her partner was coated with a water-based lubricant. She also said that water-based lubricants are usually glycerin-based (sugar!). Apparently, too much lube can actually cause these infections. If this is causing your problems, then go find another lube with the least amount of sugar or forget the lube altogether and definitely stay away from spermicides. I have no idea if there are sugarless lubes, but good luck.
