For several decades I had problem with acid and near Nerve related Stomach Ulcers and acid reflux, oily stuff coming from my stomach. First time it happened, the doc told me to drink heavy cream and half and half mixed morning and evening and gave me meds to take 3X a day. I had to sleep with my head up. After my hysterectomy(1987) they told me to eat whatever I craved because my body needed it, then they gave me Desepramin when I went into a major post surgical depression.  Then I went on Lithium and other meds for Bi-Polar disorder, got off them because I was gaining like crazy and now I am taking Lamictal 100 mg 2 X daily.  I also started to have a sluggish thyroid again since I been consuming lots of Broccoli, Cauliflower and Cabbage. I eat tofu, and sometimes Miso nad I been craving fats and can't stop eating once I started. I keep craving more. I am headachy and irritable, and battle with insomnia. I am taking my Ph balance daily and I am alkaline, 6.0 Has anybody experienced this?

I d definately make compliant bone soup (either fish, meat or poultry) and add my chopped beneficial veggies to that, an hour before turning off the crock pot or pan.

you can t go wrong with that, and bone broth is a great healer!

Not meaning to be rude but how do you know that you are blood group AB?

Have you actually been tested or are you just assuming for some reason or other?

I know so many people who assume that they are blood group ? because...some obscure reason!

You are liable to do yourself more harm than good by guessing, get a proper test!

Start your BTD and stay as compliant as possible so that your body can adjust properly then start to fine tune it, one thing at a time.

That worked for me but you never stop fine tuning really, ever!. Good luck, John.

I have neckaches/headaches when I need more iodine.  It would also affect the thyroid, but AI dont know what the symptoms are for sluggish thyroid.

The test for iodine deficiency that I use is:  rub a spot (at least 2 inch diameter) of Tincture of Iodine (2%) on a thigh or abdomen and observe it throughout a 24 hour period.  It it is absorbed completely, no longer visible, in the 24 hour period, repeat until a visible trace remains.  I gave blood very soon after I first read about this.  The nurse swabbed iodine on my arm three times (about 3 inch square) before putting in the needle.  By the time the pint had filled, the spot was almost absorbed.  Since then, I use about 3" square on each leg every morning and rarely see any trace the next day.

Chlorine, flourine and bromine all flush iodine out of the system, so it is very hard to keep adequate amounts in the system if you live in an area where either of those three is added to the water.

pipnjohn, I am European-born and in Europe everybody knows their blood type. I also had three kids and my blood type is part of the birth records as well as the fact that I have donated blood on a regular bases before getting on Lamictal. I am also unable to eat certain beneficiary things because they make me sick. Like Kiwi and I can't eat peanuts. I have gained 15 lbs since I started on this diet. And am getting to the point where I am becoming Bulimic because of perceived deprivation

ArwenLegolas, wishing you a warm welcome to BTD and the forum.
My advice is to get the book, Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Stress Syndrome. I had been diagnosed w/ Adrenal Fatigue a year or so ago. Took some stuff, not much help. My new NP had me do saliva testing. I am in Adrenal Failure. I am starting new supps today and am doing a lot of heavy praying w/ that, that they work. From what I understand, Adrenal Failure can kill you.
Adrenal Fatigue is so prevalent, yet so underdiagnosed. Here is a site you can look at in the meantime (if you should decide to get the book or maybe check it out at the library):
http://www.drlam.com/A3R_brief_in_doc_format/adrenal_fatigue.cfm#2

I believe my adrenals started be worn down as a child. I had a very abusive father and in reading this book, I can see where my adrenals just became more and more stressed as my life went on. Very interesting reading.

Pat,
Your adrenals might also benefit from some chinese tonics.  Let me know if you want to "talk herbs".

It's good that you have been getting these tests, Pat.  Now you have a baseline from which to work, and a better idea of which direction you need to go in!

Yes, ma'am. My NP said they normally want you to retest in a month, but we're just going to see how I feel. I like that in him. It's not all about the $$$$, but about helping me feel better. Will try to post about what supps he has me on and my test results, as several had requested I do so. Will try to do that this weekend.
